Just curious if all of the wave 7 Dukes have a backwards flag on their arm. Mine is that way and I didn't know if they're all that way.

I'd assume yes. It is supposed to be that way and represents moving forward, like a flag would look on a moving vehicle. I've not heard of any where the flag was reversed.

I don't think any are backwards - those I've seen are facing the way they should be on his uniform.

You know...we really should have a FAQ thread and put this in there. I don't know how many times people have asked about the backwards flag or mentioned that it is an error. I'm a Canadian and even I know that is how it should be on the right shoulder! Seriously, there should be a pinned post that says:
American Flags on right shoulder are placed backwards to give the illusion of the soldier running forward in battle with the flag flying behind him. If you hold an american Flag up, if you look at the flag on one side, it will be backwards. Same theory here on the American soldiers uniforms. IT IS NOT A MISTAKE! IT'S SUPPOSED TO BE LIKE THAT! *rant over* |

Thank goodness Hasbro is doing it correctly instead of catering to the lowest common denominator here. Sorry if I come off as harsh, I just find it really irritating. |

First off, you do come off as harsh. It was an honest question that I couldn't find an answer to. Secondly, I'm not a new Joe collector. I collected in the 80's and started over in 2000 and have a few hundred Joes. I just don't stare at every single one to notice all of the details.
And as to thinking it looks stupid, I don't expect accuracy in a toy line that is about soldiers fighting a group of terrorists with a snake fetish (they are just toys, right?). Sorry for rocking the boat and irritating you. Maybe next time you see someone post a question that you feel has been answered before, you should just ignore it so it doesn't irritate you. Sorry for acting like a new collector looking for the lowest common denominator and making myself look ignorant when I should've just done some research so I didn't irritate anyone. You have my sincerest apologies. Last edited by groundhog7s; 05-14-2008 at 10:30 PM.. |
