[pig iron grenadier]

I have been seeing some of the earlier figs that are now packaged in single cards that contain 2 peg stands rather than the single peg ones. My question is will either of these become more rare or a "variant" to collectors. I bought a couple for myself being a nerdy completist, but does anyone thing they will be distinguishable in a way the straight arm and swivel arm or the different card backs are-even the chrome logos for that matter?

well, i think technically this circumstance is the definition of a variant. however, i find it unlikely that it will be anything that is all that sought after since (a) it doesn't have anything to do with the actual figure, and (b) it is practically unobservable while still on the card.

hopefully your question gets more relevant and hasbro puts double pegs on the cobra stands too.

I think it's going to be a running change and you'll see all new figures with double pegged stand.
