O-ring is out, Modern Era is in. The Joe Club's yearly offering of a figure for its members has been bagged for the O-ring line. However, this year we got to see the ME version of the Adventure Team figures come carded (albeit a bit of a thin card, but the thought & effort was a nice touch) and they looked pretty awesome for it.
http://www.hisstank.com/forum/g-i-jo...pic-video.html So... Would you guys & gals like to see the subscription ME figures from the Club carded in the future or just stick with the simple bag?

I understand the need for moc but I open mine for desplay so even a file card would be fine for me. I vote yes for pure retro factor tho.

Carded.
Appeal to both fans. The openers can open. The MOC get MOC. Easy answer.

Bagged. I don't want the price of membership going up any higher than it needs to.

while I applaud Nirvana for taking the initiative... Irid does bring up a major concern. maybe another question to ask would be... are there enough people that are not members that would join the club if the figures came carded to make up for the cost so that the club wouldn't have to raise prices?! I don't think doing a limited quantity carded is an option. who knows... maybe the future con sets will be so fantastic that they'll get record sales and then the club would consider carding some single figs.

I voted no but for a purely selfish reason.
If they're carded, I'll feel compelled to buy another of them to open, whereas if it is just bagged, I'd be content with the one. Which I suspect is a condition that may afflict a number of persons...

oh hell yes I would love to see the club figure carded to fit with the rest of my 25th style carded figures. The only down side to this is I would have to buy 2 of each. One to open ,one to keep carded.it would = a win for the club though.

Carded wouldn't just raise the price of making them, it would also raise the price of shipping them to us. Since all that needs to be covered by the club, that would certainly mean hefty price increases. And I think more increases would likely mean fewer members and therefore fewer opportunities for club releases. I would rather my cash and their effort went toward more figures than more packaging.
But it would be cool if they carded some to make them available to those who definitely want them. I see how it fits in a MOC collection. But I think the free figure should always be loose. To me it it isn't even all that "retro" to have a figure arrive in the mail that is carded. It would be cooler if it came sealed in a bag with a redback filecard. |

They should offer the card back as an extra, like they do with the uniform and gear for the 12" figures. They could offer the bubble and card and if we wanted we could make our own carded figure. The back could show previous offered membership figures or that years con figures.
