How come all three Walmarts I've been to within the past three months are not selling G.I. Joe POC's? Is there a ban or something?

Joes were banned from Walmart for excessive trolling.

I actually talked to a guy that works the toy department the other night. Now this wal mart and another are 4 miles apart at the most but one has GI Joe and the other does not. This one I was at did not and he said that the ROC figures didn't do what they wanted so they won't be getting them now but the possibility for later is always there. Thing is, this is the more "rural" wal mart not in town directly. They do more stuff for ranchers and farmers and not toys.
Now the wal mart that is in town does have them. Granted, this is not a big city by any means but it is located in the north end of the capital city. They still have ROC on the pegs with the POC line! I guess it really depends on how ROC did in that particular store. Like I said, these two stores are close to each other but a much different type of buyer in that short distance. |

Many Wal Marts might not be carrying the Pursuit of Cobra line due to unsatisfactory results from the Rise of Cobra line. But the fault alone falls on Wal Mart and every other retailer that jumped on the ROC train. Toy Fair 2009 retailers saw G.I. Joe like they do every year, but they saw that there was a movie tied to it and they all jumped aboard and ordered way TOO much product, thinking these will sell like hotcakes because they have a summer movie attached to it. Well like it happens every year with every toyline attached to a movie it didn't sell as much as they hoped. So now they're stuck with all this product that didn't sell during and after the holidays that they get clearanced out and retailers lose money. Heck, if I had a business and ordered a $#!+ load of Joes and turns out that they didn't sell well, I wouldn't order any more myself. I am pretty sure Wal Mart will eventually carry PoC with the holidays right around the corner.

All of the new product at one of my local Walmart stores went straight to the clearance isle before they were done with their reset.
Don't get me wrong though because the items weren't on "clearance" they were just being stored there. Walmart had even posted a few signs which read "All items are the priced as whatever they scan as." To me that's just being lazy. In any case they had all of the Wave 1 POC figures and well as the new Marvel Universe comic packs. This was a few weeks ago though, so they are all gone now after people got wise to this. I got lucky and must have found them first because nothing seemed to have been missing as of yet. I ended up getting all 4 Alley Vipers, 2 out of the 4 Cobra Commander figures, and one of each of the rest of the characters. Plus I got all of the new Marvel Universe comic packs, as well as 2 out of the 3 final ones from the Secret Wars series which I was missing. I even picked up 2 DC Universe Classics figures that I was missing as well. That was a good day my friends. Since this time the Walmart has completed their reset, but they have yet to move those new items from the "clearance" section into their regular spots in the toy isles. In fact it looks as if the new toy section is smaller than the older one was. I no longer see pegs for Gi Joe figures, so maybe some Walmart stores will no longer be carrying them until Renegades and the next movie line comes out.

When the toy departments did their resets, some Walmarts carry POC, some don't.
But luckily they carry plenty of Kung Zhu Hamsters and tons of just about anything they can put the name Toy Story 3 on. |

We have four Wal-Marts here and all of them have POC except one.
They reset the aisle and there are no places for it. I don't know. The $10 ROC Storm Shadows they had also disappeared. My guess is some stores just haven't completely reset their toy departments yet. I don't know how it is in other towns, but here it sometimes takes the WMs literally MONTHS to do it. One of them, when the first Clone Wars toys were released, wouldn't sell some of the Legacy action figures to me because of the street date, then proceeded to not put them out on the release date and delayed it for about a month.

A small amount of wave 1 POC showed up here at Wal-marts (but not all). It sold through and that's all I've seen, not even any shelf space for it now.
