depends on the production numbers if you ask me...if they make as many DOCs as they have SS, SE, CC, or Duke, i'd say $5-$10 and thats taking into account price of fig and shipping...

Are you including all of those figures and comics if you were to sell Doc? If so than yes that is part of it, if not you are implying that the comic packs are worthless. That is simply not the case. I along with many others bought the comic packs regardless of the FREE Doc figure. I ordered one becuse it was only $4.95. I would not pay more. Considering how many people I've heard talk about the tons of these they ordered, I expect the ebay market to FLOOD in about a month. Buy it then at the low point. After that they will increase.

Most people who bought the comic packs kept both their figs and their comics, and only sent off the pops, which were included in the package at no extra cost. The comic packs were $10, a pretty good deal for two figs and a comic book. This whining about how much it costs for a Doc fig is just asinine, the packs were worth more than the cost, shipping is reasonable, and if you have old flag or battle points lying around, you can use them to get extras. The actual cost is the $5 for shipping. If you really think you can not keep those figs you bought, contact me and I'll give you my address so you can ship them out ASAP.

I disagree. The 60 dollars you spent to buy the comics and figures were just for that, comics and figures. The Doc figure was 4.95 and then 4.95 for each additional Doc. In no way do i see Doc being a 60 dollar figure. I agree with bvance74, it is only worth 4.95. But that is my opinion...

Look at what some people have paid on ebay to be the first to have wave 7 figures. I don't think that in the future we will see a Spirit selling for $40 or a Hiss Driver going for $60. But Doc on the other hand will not be available at retail in the next few weeks. In the long run, like all collectables, he will be worth what someone is willing to pay for him. I do think you would be wise to wait a month or so before bidding on one, however this could backfire too. I remember passing on some $75-95 Gold PDD's last year convinced that they would be cheaper down the road.

Right now, most of the activity is in low-ball buy-it-nows (in-hand and preorders), which should give you an idea of how confident sellers are that Doc will hold value once the full supply hits the market (select auctions are topping $100, but many people are dumping them for as little as $60). With so many people sending out for these in multiples of four, there should be no shortage (a quick scan shows over 4000 Battle Points sold on eBay in the last two weeks alone). Expect the majority of sales to be buy-it-nows for decreasing amounts until they finally bottom out in the $15-$25 range as the supply levels off. The price may spike back up occasionally, but since the figure isn't a troop builder or an essential character (or rare/exclusive variant), I don't see any significant long-term rise in value. Maybe I'm wrong, but I don't really care because I'm not going to be dealing with aftermarket purchases/sales, as I would imagine would be the case for anyone who absolutely must have this figure (which makes me wonder who's buying these things anyway...) |

<sarcasm>I'll tell you what, I didn't get my Doc yet, but I'll sell him to you for $65 when he arrives. That's below cost! I'm not even charging for gas or tax. You can't beat that deal! I suppose I'll find something to do with all those extra figures and comics I'll be stuck with.</sarcasm>

Piper figures were pre-selling for $50-$60, then went for just over $100 right after the convention. Within a couple of weeks, they were up to $200, but eventually dropped back down to $110-$120. The last two that sold on eBay went for $456 and $425! I'm glad I opened one when they were selling for $200, because I may not have done it if I had waited until now. |

"Depends how much you want him" - It's a cliche of course, but only because it's so true.
A fellow board member is fixing me up with a DOC because I'm in England and excluded from the offer, but if I was unlucky enough to have to rely on Ebay, the most I'd be prepared to pay would be $30 for the figure.

My guess:
- The very first figures always go for crazy prices, which is why the "in-hand" ones are selling for 100+ bucks. - Once they start really shipping out, and e-bay is flooded with them, you'll see them for between 35-50 bucks. - Come the end of this year, early next year, when e-bay is drying up and the Doc promotion is long over, they will spike up to about 60-80 bucks for a while. - After they REALLY start drying up on e-bay, they'll just keep going up from there. I don't think they'll get to Roddy Piper or Gold PPD prices, because the Doc's are more available than those figures were, but the price will probably be a strong 100+ in the long run. |
