Anybody notice we haven't seen, and by the looks of the next wave layouts, won't see any females in the POC line? Is that a little sexist on Hasbro's part? I mean it's a total sausage fest, and I'd really like to see a Lady Jaye, Scarlett, Baroness, or even Covergirl done in the current style. I wonder if there's a reason behind this, or Hasbro simply wasn't thinking.

I remember reading in one of the QnA's that the decision to leave female characters out of POC was because of how poorly they did in the ROC line.
It is very dissapointing, though. I too would've loved to have had a POC version of at least Scarlett and the Baroness |

Maybe they wouldn't have sucked so bad if they actually looked like women.

They all looked like women. Agent Helix looked like more of a woman then any of the 1980's figures.

You think that's sexist, look at the years long gaps between female figures in the vintage line. I think we're doing pretty good nowadays if you look at how many females we've had in the last couple of years.

A Cover Girl update would be nice.

This has been noted before. Other then Helix, the Nichols Scarlet headsculpts were only mildly passable, and the Miller Baroness sculpts were awful. They bordered on insulting considering how good looking she actually is. I think, when the decision to move away from the actor sculpts came down, they decided to not bother at all. From the cancelled figures we've seen, there was only one planned anyhow. CS Scarlet. Let's face it, Hasbro does a HORRIBLE job on women. They need to seriously put some serious time, energy, and money into getting good headsculpts for all their female characters before they release any more versions, IMO.

the roc female line was bad because...it was 2 characters done twice...and then the helix that was done as dialtone...i mean honestly...the only reason i have 20 roc baronesses is because i needed those mars cases and i needed the bodies for my nightstalkers.
its ok though i have full confidence that when gi joe 2 comes out we will have a better rehash of the women...i omit the mention of renegades as we have not seen anything from that impending toy line |

Granted, I don't own all of the female figures, but the covergirl I picked up is horrible, with the straw-looking hair, manish face, and perpetual hunchback. And I passed up on the Baroness more times than I can remember for similar reasons. Even when she was $0.88. I will agree that I did pick up Helix and I do like that mold.
So, I take back what I said. They do look like women... really ugly ones. |
