Dr. Mindbender

I know a lot of people didn't really like the 25th redesigns of Serpentor and Zartan, but one character who I feel could really benefit from a redesigning of his costume is Dr. Mindbender. Even as a kid I just knew there was something not right with that dude. I would personally like the Venom vs. Valor version with the white labcoat, or really, most anything that didn't make him look like a flamboyant pirate or something. What say you?

I say thee nay! as far as the original costume is concerned. You're right about something not being right with that dude. Redesign or Dr. Venom would be great.

Whats wrong with flamboyant pirate?!? Are you then also asking for a redesign Zanzibar too?! kidding... But I did think the Shirtless/Caped version really captured how insane that guy must be.

However, I would like to see both the '86 and the DDP/VvV motifs (could live without the purple borg costume)

Wow , I can't believe these results. That many people want him in the original version? Regardless of how terrible it was? I'm all for nostalgia, but come on. Please allow him a bit of dignity. Original Mindbender will never have a place in my Cobra Army. I'd still buy one, but only to make into a respectable mad scientist, one that evokes power and intelligence, not laughter.

how was it terrible?? we vote original because we want the "classic" trend to continue and a Dr mindbender version to go right with the rest of the 25th figures...I want figures "updated" that I had as a kid...a modern mindbender would suck and wouldnt go with the rest

I really like the character but I like him in VvV because he looks more like a mad scientist rather than a flamboyant pirate. I'd be happy if the mixed the two to be honest. Like if he wore the cape over his lab coat or something.

You're kidding right? Even the people who want an original Mindbender know that the outfit was terrible. He looks like a Village People reject, only gayer. Why does an old orthodontist, run around with no shirt showing off his abs of steel? With suspenders and a cape yet. It's his original deco that does not fit with the rest of the line, that's why I have a problem with it. The rest of the figures look good, they look like they fit into this time period, except maybe Serpentor (who I have issues with as well). The rest of the Cobras look like a modern well organized and equipped terrorist force. Mindbender looks like a joke. Like a figure pulled in from an entirely different line. He should have a shirt on, if for no other reason than that labs are notoriously cold. The other Cobra scientists do not want to look up from their microscopes to see Mindbender's erect nipples. Put some clothes on for Christ sake.

i'd prefer Dr. venom in a comic pack, but as that's unlikely i'd take Mindbender in ANYTHING more dignified then his ridiculous classic look.
