I used to work at Walmart and the way we would do it at our store is that it would have to be another store in our area (we wouldn't even match Walmart prices at other Walrmarts a certain distance away) and we had to call and verify the price at the other store or have an ad or something like that. So it wasn't a big deal to get a price match usually.
I'll have to remember that if WM gives me any hassle with price matching in the future. Got some figures there today and told the K Mart had them for $5.99. First they said they needed an ad showing the price I told them but then went ahead and matched the price I gave them anyway. |

I like collecting Joes and all but if I had to wait behind some guy in his late 20's or 30's because he wants to save a buck on a toy I would be tempted to scream. It's like the old ladies with their coupons, except they usually buy necessities.
Bottom line it's a hobby and the product is hot. Supply and demand. Just like with coupons, that extra $1 off per figure can add up to bigger savings. If you buy 7 figures and get the price reduced for all of them it's like you're getting that 7th figure free. |

If you saved a dollar a day on average for every day of the year (I'm not specifically talking about Joe figures, either; this can pertain to savings on any retail product) in a lifetime you'd end up saving about $25,000 (assuming you lived to be 85 and started your purchasing at age 15). I'd say it's worth it. I was always under the impression that all those coupons were a waste and couldn't possibly help me out that much. That is until I realized because my girlfriend loves using coupons so much that we actually save a good $30-$40 every time we go to the grocery store! Obviously it just depends on what you, as an individual, think is worth your time. I could see how some people don't want to deal with the possible hassle of going through the process, though (especially if there's a long line behind you). I hardly ever visit Wal-Mart and even when I do I go to the self-checkout lines to avoid the lines (I'd imagine the price match process becomes more inconvenient however if you choose to use the self-checkout lines).
