With all of the 25th Anniversary and ME figures popping up at places like Big Lots! and Family Dollar (both of which put big price stickers on their items) I figured I'd set up a thread for people to discuss the various ways they remove price tags without harming the packaging.
What are your tips and tricks for removing price tags from figure cards and vehicle boxes?

i've found that you can peel most of these right off if you are very careful. (TJs are the worst!)
if it doesn't all come off at first, balling up the sticker (sticky side out) and 'dabbing' it at the remaining goo picks most of it up. for any left over residue, i've found that Goo Gone works wonders! |

I've always had very good luck with lighter fluid and a q-tip applied to the sticker.
goo gone also works well.

Rubbing alcohol works as well. Just get a little on a rag and rub, the sticky stuff comes right off.
I've never (I don't think?) tried this on the cardboard though, mostly just on the plastic bubble. .... |

Goo-gone is designed for this sort of thing. Dab some into the offending sticker and let it sit for an hour or so, and it should come right up. I have removed some of the most determined stickers this way. Also, have never had it mar the paper/cardboard surface underneath.

If you are taking off a sticker that is attached to cardboard, you have to use the hair dryer method. Just warm up the sticker with a hair dryer for about 15-20 seconds, then peel it off. I did this last night with the Joes I just got at Family Dollar and Big Lots. If you are removing one of those nasty Ross, TJ Maxx, or Marshall's stickers, you need to warm up the sticker longer and you might only get half of it peeled away before you need to warm it up again to peel off the rest.
Caution: if you use the hair dryer on a plastic bubble, it can warp the plastic. Works great removing the stickers from cards though.

I'm pretty good at peeling stickers. I just get underneath an edge with my thumbnail, break the entire edge free, then pull upward and outward very slowly and evenly. This works for most stickers and will only leave the slightest bit of residue. For the remainder, "dabbing" at it with the sticker you just removed works pretty well. Of course, some stickers are made to drive you insane. For those, I'd try Goo Gone. I've tried lighter fluid on a 25th card, it didn't get rid of the sticker residue and it broke down the silver ink.

I use the hairdryer, with a 1/4 inch board I have to block the air from warming the bubble. I use a small blade to lift the sticker edge without the thumbnail scratches, and continue to alternate heating and peeling for the tj maxx ones. Then dab some tissue with the rubbing alcohol to get off the glue. It evaporates quickly and doesn't damage the card.

Goo Gone. Let it sit for a few minutes, but not longer if it is on cardboard and you care about the cardboard, as it will soak in.
On plastic, 10 minutes and you can lift the sticker right off.
