I am thinking about selling of some of my collection. I know we all have reasons for selling and like everyone I need the $$. I am just thinking it may be hard to replace items once they are gone. It took me 8 years to find a Flagg and a complete Rolling Thunder. I don't know what to do.

Keep what you like and get rid of the things you don't need anymore! Collecting is supposed to be a fun thing!

I didn't have fun in collecting ROC figures 'cause of the countless repaints of all kinds.. so I stopped!

Imagine yourself 10 years from now looking at your current collection. IMO just keep what you love.... keep what you need to... sell the rest if you can.

I've reached the point where I just can't keep collecting. I had to make a decison that was basically I'm going to be a collector for life (and keep going) or only keep ones that I enjoy and sell the rest. There has to be an end in sight. I don't want to be collectiong this stuff when I'm 50....if you decide to sell, sell now while it's still hot and people are interested.

Good point 82joe... just keep what you really like and sell everything else. I learned that having a small collection of the stuff i really like, i get to appreciate them more and save some space as well.

That's where my mindset is now. The few things I have on display bring a smile to my face when I see them and that's how it should be. Everything else is tucked away out of sight in closets, under steps or in the attic rotting away in totes. I had to ask myself why do i want this stuff? I'm not gonna open up a museum of toys so why hang onto it? To each his own and it's not my place to say what is right and what is wrong but for me toy collecting has had me in it's clutches for 15 years now and I need an escape. It stopped being fun a few years back but for ome reason I felt like I had to keep going and buying the stuff. It's not fun anymore and that's why i'm getting out.
