I never have any luck at Walmart anyways. Most of my Joes are purchased at Target, but starting from Wave 7, I ordered it through BBTS.
Recently Walmart stock was down because investors reported that they are out of touch to the customers. And now I know why. |

I have one Wal-Mart by me that has been THE best store out of 3 towns worth of stores for finding new figures. They have 8 pegs for singles and they typically have them fully stocked (Not to mention the 6 pegs of Comics fully stocked with waves 1-3) If I see the figures I want, I'm gonna buy them. Even if it's at K-Mart where $6.84 has been the typical price since Wave 1 came out in August 2007

yeah - just another reason to hate walmart. i only go there to see if they have anything in stock, which they never do, so it really doesn't make friggin' difference to me. now i can stop going there altogether. the place makes me feel like i could contract SARS at any moment.

I checked a local walmart and yeah, 4 empty pegs marked at 6.84, but 2 full comic packs still marked at 9.88. You get the second figure for less than half?

Walmart does this every time this year.
Because toys are traditional loss leaders and we're starting to get movie tie ins about this time, Walmart often raises the price on "evergreen" or collectible lines in order to offset the doorbuster sales they try and do with the various tie in lines. For example, every Walmart I've been to has the Star Wars Titanium line for around $6.74, yet, Hasbro's MSRP on the line is still only $4.99. Walmart raised the price on just about every secondary line that falls under the one of the big brands. The core reason I can see is to prepare for next Christmas season. Consumers (especially in areas like mine where Walmart is the ONLY real source for toys), see Walmart lower the price on a Titanium from $7 to $5, they think they are getting a good deal, because Walmart has trained them to expect the higher price. If this really becomes widespread, I know BBTS and EE are going to be getting a LOT more of my business as at $7 a pop, I'm really not saving anything going to Walmart.
