Now that Hasbro has abandoned the life sculpts of the actors from ROC, for a [I guess] more traditional sculpt, I'm curious as to what people think the direction Hasbro will take with the follow-up to the film toyline, "Rise Of Cobra".
Will Hasbro go back to life sculpts of the actors for the film follow-up? Personally, I think it's a lil' messed up if they do. In my opinion, there is no need for sculpts of the actors, so long as they keep the toys in the representation of the characters in the film. Otherwise, it looks like multiple product lines. Could you imagine? I know some [if not most] will say it won't matter about ROC, cuz the toyline is dead. But still, could you imagine? Toylines for ROC, POC, Resolute and ROC 2 (film)? |

Totally agree! I like the idea of the origional looking characters. I got enough ROC Duke and Ripcord heads to be able to switch off for any version anyway.

By the time the sequal rolls around chances are there will be a whole line based on the new cartoon most likely.
So if that's the case, there will be a seperate line for the movie and the actor head sculpts.

I think that POC is just tweener line to hold things over til the next movie. Once the movie hits, actor scuplts is a good possibility i think. I personally like the new sculpts better, i'm tired of looking at Channing Tatum's face! But, Hasbro will do what they feel will sell best to the masses, and that often means actor likenesses.

See, that's what I'm hoping they will avoid doing in hopes of some continuity between the toylines (except for Resolute).

Very true. You could almost think the next movie would be called Pursuit of Cobra. The movie starts, he escapes, and the chase is on. I agree with you 100% on this. Unfortunately, it's probably just wishful thinking.

You're right. But it is too soon to tell. I'm hoping the next movie will produce more potential for toys. ROC came up really short in that category. I'm sure that's part of why the toyline died (aside from cost) so quick and easy.

Yeah, the movie characters seemed so generic, and the additional characters were mostly simple repaints. But, they still managed to get my money.
