I know Ron does a lot of Q+A for websites... but I figured since I have the
Bill Merklein interview almost ready to be sent to him... I'd round it off with one with Ron Rudat who has agreed to answer some questions. so post your questions below and I'll pass a few of them along on your behalf. If you haven't submitted questions for Bill Merklein yet and would like to... here's the link: http://www.hisstank.com/forum/g-i-jo...ro-legend.html otherwise below submit your questions for Ron Rudat.

What items did you want to see developed that for one reason or another didn't?

Did anybody tell you that you look a lot like Leatherneck? :P
Is there a figure or character that you wish you could design or re-design for the current line? What do you think of the current Joe line? Do the figures meet and exceed your expectations? If you could have control of what direction the line took, what kind of figures, vehicles and/or playsets would we see? Thanks for another scoop, Gyre! You're the fan's fan! Here's another interview with Ron Rudat so we can ask some new questions. (Or ask the same ones and see if the answers change!) |

Daremo asked some good ones.
Anything you wanted to design that didn't make it. Any design that you loved that Hasbro shot down. How much was changed on a given design from when it left your hands to production.

Which comes first, the character design, or personality/specialty? Meaning, did someone come up to you and say "I need a Cobra Dentist" and you designed it, or did you create a new figure and then someone said, "oh, that looks like a dentist?"

Would you be willing to return to the G.I. Joe line for the 30th anniversary of A Real American Hero in 2012?
What are some iconic vehicles that you think should be reissued? Has Hasbro ever asked you to let's say, touch up the Dragonfly and Skystriker label art, for a rerelease? |
