So I was reading through a list of upcoming figures for next year (courtesy of Minstrelboy) and noticed the following at the bottom of the list:
G.I. JOE COLLECTOR'S CLUB ADVENTURE TEAM __Adventure Team Scout Vehicle (yellow) ..__Land Adventurer (green camo uniform) __Adventure Team Helicopter (yellow) ..__Air Adventurer (orange uniform) __Adventure Team Sea Wolf II (white) ..__Sea Adventurer (light blue shirt, blue pants) __Adventure Team Man Eating Plant (green) ..__Adventure Team Commander (green uniform) ..__Doctor Venom (green shirt, blue pants, white coat) After doing a bit of digging I found some pictures of some of the figures. However, I'm still left with a few nagging questions: First, are these meant to be a part of the 25th Anniversary line, or are they ROC/POC figures? Second, is signing up for the Collector's Club the only way to get the figures, or are they available to non-members as well (for a higher cost or whatever)? Any info or insight from more seasoned Joe collector's would be very appreciated. |

Honestly, I don't believe anything that comes from the collector's club should be considered part of any of the main lines (I consider all club exclusives to be their own line) These figures just use the new articulation is all.
I'm sure non members will be able to buy them at a higher price, that seems to be the way the club deals with all of their exclusives. |

Good point. But from Hasbro's point of view, are they marketing it as a 25th release, ROC, or as you pointed out, maybe its own sub-line, etc? Quote:

I'm not sure how you would classify these figures. Some members go by the packaging: Example: The Piper figure from a couple of years ago is considered part of the 25th line by many collectors because the cardback is made up in the 25th style (Since the figure is an O-Ring figure, I cannot classify it as part of the 25th in my world ) If this is the case, then I suppose the Operation MOTH sets the club released would be part of the Joe Vs Cobra line because that's the logo they use on the boxes (Even though that's the ONLY thing on the packaging that ties them to that line and the figures are classic O-Ring molds) This would also include the 2006 big box set of figures The 2007 set would probably also be classified as part of the 25th line because it has the 25th logo on it, but just like the Piper figure, it is made of O-Ring figures. Also we'd probably have to include the Sigma Six 8" Red Ninja figure into the 25th line since all the promo pictures of it included the 25th anniversary seal (ya know because 2007 was the 25th year of GI Joe) Now we also fall into a problem using the packaging as a basis for what line these toys fall into. The 2008 set could either be part of the ARAH line (which ended in 1994) or it could be part of the Modern Era line since both used the same logo, but also like the previous club exclusive sets, these figures are O-Ring figures made from classic molds. Then we have the yearly figures which come in a plastic bag..... Course we could just classify them by the construction mold they use, but then Piper is now part of the DTC line, Sigma Six 8" Red Ninja is now part of the Sigma Six line (go figure ) and the 2007 Tanks for the Memories set is now part of the original line (Which ended in 1994) even though all 3 of these sets have a 25th Anniversary seal on them This is why I choose to classify them all as from the "Club Exclusive" line Honestly, the club tries marketing all of their exclusives as just that, club exclusives. When they;'re describing certain figures they may say what "Style" it in, like "Classic O-Ring Style" or "Newsculpt" (That's the SpyTroops, Valor Vs Venom, DTC style) but I don't think they try to tie the club exclusives to any mainstream GI Joe line Sorry I got all long winded here |

I just had a 'brain fart' reading all this...are the GIJCC Adventure Team figures being constructed with ARAH (o-ring) molds or the newer current 25th style? When are these being released?

See that's just it, Hasbro isn't marketing these, Master Collector is, Hasbro is just allowing Master Collector to use the GI Joe license. I don't even think these are made in the same factory as main line GI Joe toys

I can't recall exactly, but there are pictures available of at least a couple of the figures (I know there's pics of the Adventure Team Man Eating Plant set w/ Adventure Team Commander and Doctor Venom). Again, I can't say for sure, but the figures seemed to have the older ARAH/O-Ring molds as opposed to the newer style. However, I could be wrong as I couldn't make out much detail from the pics. All 4 Adventure Team figures and Dr. Venom are going to be 25th/ME Articulation. There are pictures of the 4 Adventure Team figures as O-Ring figures but that was just the prototypes that Master Collector showed, those have been scrapped in favor of the new 25th/ME construction

By saying the figures were 25th/ME articulation, I was saying "These are not O-Ring figures" not really saying they are part of the 25th/ME line |

good to know they're 25th Articulation (sorry O-ringers!), but wish somehow they'd be new sculpts... which they won't be though....
