Very useful, we are always looking for the best way to store and display our toys!
currently...I have all of mine bagged, grouped by series, alphabetized and put into white cardboard storage boxes (from Cardboard Boxes, Shipping Supplies, Packaging Materials - ULINE ) I of course am working on diorama displays (link below) but my personal "perfect" choice would be something I could store or display...that way I could rotate my display area for a new look every now and then, and save tons of space. I will make room for certain dio's but with 1000's of figures (Joe, SW, Star Trek, TMNT, MOTU, LOTR, Marvel, DC, and the rest) collected, it would be nice to see them every now and then out of these boxes : - )

individual tackle boxes (actually 'storage boxes' found at Walmart in the hardware section, but are basically tackle boxes). I can fit 2-3 figures w/ stands/accessories in each slot, and each box has 12 slots, so I can fit ~30 figs per box.
I have 7 boxes... lol. Damn, that's a lot of Joes... |

Most of my collection is MOC except for a handful of 25th and ROC. All my vintage stuff from my childhood is sitting in boxes. I usually just store the loose figures in a ziplock. I also use copy paper boxes to store the MOC figures in. You can line the figures up in two rows and fit a good number in them.

I use generic plastic tool organizers that you can get at Wal Mart, K-Mart and Sears. They come in mustard yellow, or red with hinged clear top. I use the smaller ones for guns and accessories, and the bigger ones for figures.
I have 3 for my Cobra army, one for Joes and one for Cobra main characters. But I need to buy another, since I can't fit all of my Cobra army in them anymore. I have 150+ total Cobra troops of all kinds. (Cgs, blueshirts, BATS etc.) I modify them a a little with a razor blade... Once finished there are 12 compartments that I can fit up to 6 figures in each. My carded anniversery stuff is in my Grandfather's store on pegs. Its currently un-occupied so this is only temoporary... I also have dozens of loose figures in "Snack size" ziplock baggies. Those in tern are in a small cardboard box... But I rotate figures and vehicles on display... That way I don't get bored I also have some plastic oganizers that I use for extra vehicle parts.

Hey I am gonna bring this thread back to life I need some help.
I like to do outdoor joetogrophy. Would like to have something to carry and store joes. I like the idea of the 4 box with carrier but not sure where to get them. I WILL NOT go to walmart. I have a gift card at basspro. Does anyone know what model box they use? plano 3600 or 3700? basspro 360 or 370? flambeau tuff tainer? tuff tainers are the cheapest at basspro not sure if they are the same measurement are close on the 5004 model.

You would not change anything about it?
For instance...a separate compartment for the accessories (1 figure compartment with it's own accessory compartment, or perhaps a storage case that you could also stand on end or hang as a display case? or even more figures per "unit" within the system. Those are the sort of thing that I want to bring to the table....one day....perhaps LOL A more secure stacking method would be helpful as well. They do tend to slide around rather easily when trying to stack them. Maybe a slot or some kind of pocket on the lid to store file cards would be nice. Also, the price needs to be cheap enough to be able to buy a lot of them. I think the cheapest I've seen them is when Bass Pro Shops had a sale and they were like 5 for $10. My feeling is that it shouldn't cost more than a single carded figure. |
