Why does hasbro bother with revision cases? 90% of the time they don't even make sense. Just checked over at our buddies at BBTS and did a quick research. We are all fed up seeing Waves 1 & 2 on the pegs and want newer stuff out. Take a look at how Hasbro deals with it.
Basic Assortment C1 - Wave 05 - Case of 12 - GI Joe GI Joe Rise of Cobra Movie 2009 3-3/4" Figures at BigBadToyStore and lets not forget the dreaded Wave 5 rev 1. We get a case of 12 with 5, FIVE new figures and then dumps 7 more peg warmers. Why does Hasbro do this? We all know Hasbro reads the boards and know how we feel with peg warmers and yet still release these older figures that took four months to move in the first place. The only case assortment that made sense was Basic Assortment C1 - Wave 04 - Case of 12 - GI Joe GI Joe Rise of Cobra Movie 2009 3-3/4" Figures at BigBadToyStore We get 5 new figures and the entire Wave 3 Col. 1 which wasn't easy to find when they were first released. When is Hasbro going to have revision cases like this that make sense, and not clog the pegs with stuff that hardly moves? Do we really need a case with four Snake-Eyes and four Storm Shadows? |

Why is the sky blue? Why does 5-pack Zartan's chest plate stink?
There are some things we just aren't meant to understand... |

I agree for the ROC line, but the Revision cases for the 25th line was a godsend for me because I started out real late... like around Wave 9. LOL.

They just want to make sure the pegs still have something for kids to buy.

I'm probably in the minority here, but I'm OK with it as I came toy the game late myself.

I remember in mid 08 when people were begging for another shot at v1 Storm Shadow or Snake Eyes w/ Timber. Now we're begging them to stop.

I don't get it either. Case fillers should ONLY be army builders. I'm sure SS and SE sells the best, but come on. When you make 19 versions of each one, doesn't it really matter to a 10 year old? If I wasn't a collector and if I had a kid come up to me and say "dad, can I have this toy?" and if it was the same figure with a different gun as the one I bought him last month, I would say hell no.
Shit, even when I was kid in the 80's playing with my Joes, I didn't like multiple figures. My dad was a completetist and tried to buy me all the figures. But at the end of the day, NF Falcon got firecrackered because I already had a Falcon. Hasbro keeps saying there doing things for the kids etc etc. REALLY? I don't have kids and I'm hardly ever around them. I'm willing to bet that they don't want 22 different Dukes and SE's. I bet they want 1 maybe 2. Then when they go to the toy aisle and they see the same crap, they grab a star wars or marvel legends figure instead. |

As far as I know (and I doubt anything's changed) toy companies make lots of "the Star" character, why you see multiple Batmen and Spidermen with Ninja Action and Warp Nacels. The Co's want kids to get their favorite "Star" charecter, in GI Joe's case they think it's Duke and Snake Eyes, hence the myriad of those figures.
I myself once searched for an plain Animated Superman figure for a friends child. As it turned out, he hated the standard Superman in his costume (ungrateful shmuck!), he wanted the Light up muffin attack one. Quote:
