I have this cousin who I am pretty sure Mike Judge modeled the Beavis character after. All of his toys were always broken and when he would come to visit and play with mine the same thing would happen. After he left I would find Joes hidden that he had twisted until the rubber bands in the waist had broke. The little fruitcake would do this to every joe he got ahold of. As an adult he still does the same thing ink pens. You will find the springs and ink tubes laying all over after he has been at your house.

I like this thread, I would love to hear others thoughts on this. I don't have a horror story myself.
Any one wishing to share.

When I was little we we're moving a far distance. I went to play joes the last day with my best friend at the time and he decided this was his chance to steal my Duke figure. I didn't realize it until I was too late...
Never got it back.

Growing up my parents didn't have a lot of money, so pretty much the only time I got toys was Christmas and birthdays.
I had this friend Kyle whose parents were loaded and he had everything. Joes, Transformers, Star Wars. So one year I ended up getting the original Dragon Fly for my birthday. He was so upset I got it, he left my birthday party crying about it to his parents. He was so mad I got something before him. Couple weeks later, he was over at my house and we were playing GI Joes and he threw my Dragon Fly on the sidewalk outside and broke the propeller. He wasn't allowed over after that. His parents found out, he got in trouble and apologized but it was never replaced. I still hate that bastard. |

I have two the first involved a talking battle commander cobra commander. I wanted this figure for so long and when my grandma finally bought him for me I went to play with it outside, and had him climbing a tree I then got called in for dinner leaving cc suspended in mid-climb. I never saw him again. The second involves sgt. slaughter. I got this figure for doing well in school in the second grade and I had been trying to get my hands on it for quite some time. I had him for maybe two weeks and then my brother asked to play with him before school. I warned him not to leave it out because my grandma's cat would tear it up, unfortunately he did not listen. I came home that day to find the top half of "the sarge" in the living room and the bottom half in my bedroom I was devastated.

I remember playing a hide and seek type game with my gi joes as a kid. A friend of mine and I would set up "bases" where we would hide joes in either bushes or hidden under torn up grass. The object was to take your favortie joe and go to the other teams base and find all the figures. Whoever found more was the winner. Well I decided to tell this to a new kid in town and he was up for playing. We played and at the end I couldnt find all the ones that he had hidden. I found a handful but not all of them. He told me that he hid them so well that he couldnt remember where his hiding spots were. I stopped playing that game from that point forward. About 3 months later his mom sent him to my house with a handful of scratched up, broken Gi joes. He than apologized and told me that he stole the ones that I couldnt find (hince why I couldnt find them). Needless to say I haven't let anyone play with my toys since then.

Hmm,besides snapping some O rings and some thumbs I was very careful with the Joes. I did get an R5D4 star wars fig stolen by a playmate when I was about 6 or 7.
