hello, if there are any hasbro design members out there who patrol the boards, let me provide a SOLUTION to how hasbro can extend the 25th line and please the core joe collectors and keep the new generation in the toyline.
with each wave coming out, include one character from the 25th line or resolute line. NOBODY wants anymore channing dukes or marlon ripcords, if they did, they would fly off the shelves instead of clogging every peg in every store. even kids know how lame these characters are, they rather spend their $9 on snake eyes and storm shadow. there is no demand for a channing duke with a snowboard, that money for the mold and tooling could have been used for 'iceberg with a snowboard' this way real collectors who spend thousands a year on the joe toyline, can continue the support and the young kids will get the new update movie toys with each new wave there are great characters that still need to be made like techno viper airtight low light lifeline sci fi the real dial tone night viper iceberg u get the idea, etc.... just food for thought for those who care |

Great idea! I love the 2-pack Gung Ho, and even the new Charbroil. I imagine your idea would work, at least as exclusives, like the TRU Barbeque. Hell, Hasbro could make an ROC Low-light with mostly a repainted ROC Shipwreck body and Firefly's goggles.

To hell with exclusives. That limits who can get them

the whole point is that hasbro can MAKE the remaining 25th figures with existing parts, all we really want is new heads or other 'unique details' to be made right the first time, include it in future waves, not exclusives, instead of spending time and money to make another 'snowboard channing duke' that will clog up the pegs for months

Pretty decent idea, the only problem is,hasbro wont do it. Heres my idea for hasbro,do a completely seperate line continuing where 25th/me left off at. Finish doing all the remaining classic characters as well as the repaints you like to do so much, and make it a on-line exclusive line. the only problem with that is,hasbro wont do it.

I don't see it happening except through the GI Joe Club. And not in stores until the movies run their course. Until then find a way to enjoy ROC. Like the bad ass Night Adder with black tats and a viscious dog.

Isn't Hasbro already putting in "25th" figures with the RoC line? Just because it's in RoC style packaging doesn't necessarily mean it's a movie fig. It wouldn't be cost effective to split the lines and as already posted above, exclusives limit those who can get them. I would guess that they use the same packaging style not only to save $$ (I'm sure they paid some dude a lot of money to come up with that so gotta make the most of it) but also because for non-collectors and new fans, that's the only thing they can associate GI Joe with. They still need to create movie figs along with the "25th". I believe they've already made a fig for most of the characters in the movie. And guess what, Duke and Ripcord are the main characters of the movie, so we'll be getting a steady dose of them with different costumes, etc.
I've done my fair share of blasting Hasbro (perhaps to the point that I got sick of my own b*tching). But once in a while, just have to let them do what they do. I think they're doing an ok job. Well, at least for me (can't speak of others) because I'm still buying them after two years. Last edited by annihilator; 10-08-2009 at 05:01 AM.. |

The ROC line isn't going to last. It's doomed like the Indiana Jones line. Walmart,Toys R Us & Target employees are reporting that they have a massive amount of wave 1 & 2 cases in the back & there's no room on the floor for them because the crap isn't selling.
I saw Transformers:Animated deluxe figures at Big Lots today for $12.50 each. That line bombed too. Pretty soon we'll be seeing tons of wave 1 & 2 ROC at Big Lots, Ross & TJ Maxx. Just bring back the 25th modern era & cancel the ROC/POC. Quit while you're ahead Hasbro! |
