The ROC line isn't going to last. It's doomed like the Indiana Jones line. Walmart,Toys R Us & Target employees are reporting that they have a massive amount of wave 1 & 2 cases in the back & there's no room on the floor for them because the crap isn't selling.
I saw Transformers:Animated deluxe figures at Big Lots today for $12.50 each. That line bombed too. Pretty soon we'll be seeing tons of wave 1 & 2 ROC at Big Lots, Ross & TJ Maxx. Just bring back the 25th modern era & cancel the ROC/POC. Quit while you're ahead Hasbro! |

Im not 100% sure but I believe there was a report in some publication that stated that roc toys we're not selling well. I think there was a thread about it a few weeks back.

If the stores are loaded with cases in the back what do you think will happen? The Transformers fans insisted that Animated was a huge success, I said it sucks & it's going to end up at Big Lots. Hasbro canceled the line & the show & today I saw Transformers:Animated in Big Lots. The ROC line isn't a huge success & the movie wasn't a huge success either. I don't think anybody except the hardcore GI Joe fans cares about it. The movie did well but it's no Revenge Of The Fallen. Thing is, a lot of the fans love it so much & want it to be a huge success so badly, they can't step aside for a minute & see the big picture. It was also easy to see that the 2002 MOTU line was going to bomb but the He-Man fans insisted it was a huge success. Then it was gone & moved over to those staction mini statues. The ROC line is nothing like the Indiana Jones line and this is the worst comparision I have ever seen ( and I don't know why people keep going in this direction).
The Indy figures were plain crap in designes, accessories, etc that cannot be said for the ROC line. The quality of figures in the ROC line has been very good and I think many people will agree with this. The biggest downfall is the oversized rocket launchers but we know those are for the kids. The Indy line had NO other movie to help sustain the success, at the time, it was one and done for the toys. This is not the case with ROC and eventually POC movie coming out in the future. Indiana Jones toys cannot compare to the collectors fan base like GI Joe. It's not even close. When it comes to boys toys it is Star Wars, Transformers and GI Joe then the gap becomes huge after that. ROC is going in the direction of Star Wars Clone Wars line with the figures, vehicles, exclusives, etc. That would be a better comparision but the Indy one is absurd. There are still Clone Wars figures in stores from the release in July 2008 and this will be the same with ROC down the line. By the time Christmas is over, the ROC figures on the pegs will be depleted greatly just like the Star Wars figures.

the big problem facing hasbro is moving the roc line, but its impossible if they produce figures that don't sell and clog up the pegs. NOBODY is buying the dukes, ripcords, heavy dutys out there, in order for hasbro to keep the line going they should attract us hardcore joe fans who crave the 25th line and resolutes, nobody wants anymore dukes or ripcords, the collectors want characters that have not been released in the 25th line. us hardcore fans would totally support the roc and poc lines if they continue to cater to us, kids can't afford $9 a figure nowadays only us grown ass 30ish man-boys with income
children out there argue over who is going to be Se or storm shadow for halloween, none are saying ' i want to be accelerator suit duke or ripcord' they rather be optimus prime, bubblebee or megatron if they want to be clunky looking robots. |

Well my local Targets lowered their price on joes to $5.99 and the one store must have sold at least 50 pieces since they did this yesterday because the pegs are almost completely clean.
Two days ago, they had 6 pegs crammed full that you couldn't look through the figures without them falling down. Now there are enough figures to fill three pegs completely (I know because I put them all on 3 pegs and left 3 empty for restocks).
