I am already starting to like ROC more than the 25th/Modern Era line. I think ROC has great potential with the figures released so far and the ones yet to come. I have contemplated taking down my 25th/ME figures from the wall and replacing them with ROC figures...I will always like the 25th/ME line, but ROC is slowly starting to be my favorite run of joe figures...

One thing that bugs me is the Packaging sucks on the ROC figures that is the only major problem. With the 25th Figures it was easy to store them bubble to bubble. With these I have to store them laying on the side head to head because one side is flat the other has the half moon like shape where the picture is.
and nothing beats the artwork on the 25th packaging. put the ROC figures in 25th packages and you got total win! |

When BBTS had it's mega sale, I just couldn't bring myself to buy any of the 25th/ME figures. I like the new stuff, the new designs are great. The Pursuit of Cobra stuff is amazing. And I'm getting so tired of the same ol' "death of teh linez" comments. It's been said REPEATEDLY over and over that when there is a major movie tie-in Hasbro devotes all resources and production to the movie line. ANd that's exactly what they should do. THen when it's died down a bit, they bring in other lines. Just look at Transformers and Star Wars. So come Mid-2010, remember, we've only seen product up to mid-2010, there's all of the rest of the year left, I'm pretty sure we'll see a Classic G.I. Joe line or more things like the Defense of Cobra Island 7-packs. So BE PATIENT!! And if you want to be technical, the 25th should be forgotten about BECAUSE IT'S OVER!! The 25th anniversary has come and gone, so seriously, why should they keep producing 25th anniversary stuff? The movie stuff was going to happen regardless of what happened with the 25th and how popular it was (and really, it wasn't that popular, if you consider how much shelf space was devoted to it and how hard it was to find in retail, but that's a different conversation), so the 25th would have ended no matter what. We were just lucky to get more then orginally planned, which would have been the reason for so many repaints that were critisized non-stop. Now can it be technically called the MOdern Era? Probably not, since it's new versions of vintage designs done in new style of figure and the RoC/PoC stuff is done in the new style of figure. So I think Classic Joe works pretty good. So will we see more Classic Joe? More then likely.

And I'm sorry, but Hasbro produces toys, not collectibles. So they may cater to the collector now and then, but that is not their primary or intended market. I really don't think MoC Collectors factor into their package design sessions.

It is a shame to see the old style ARAH/25th style gone. The RoC stuff seems to be here to stay.
I would proctor something in that if some of these new figs were released on 25th style packaging, those who are die hard 25th fans would be jizzing in their pants. So really is it that bad? The RoC packaging leaves something left to be desired I agree but what can you do? Write a letter and tell them. Address is below. Quote:

For example, I hate eel's...and the scuba divers are a joke...but combine the PERFECT Water Moccasin with some Nano Vipers and maybe some Commando's and viola...a whole new kind of creature! Last edited by M. Aster Karver; 09-03-2009 at 08:00 AM.. |

I have to disagree with you on this. I have collected MOC figures since 1992. There comes a time when after a line has ended it becomes utterly forgotten about. Princess what's-her-name from the earthworm jim line aint getting any less rare, but you can get her on ebay for less than 1995 retail. Granted joe is more popular but not safe. I'm sure there was rare VvV figures that fetched big prices in the day. They are practically throwaways these days.

I think there will be several lines in the end .like star wars lines.
ROC line, resolute line, legend line.
