Hi, I just removed many of my prized vehicles from storage, to display them, and I noticed that many of them seem to have some kind of mold on them. The rubbery treads on the tanks were especially bad.
I wiped them all down with a dry cloth, and most of it came right off. The treads are another story though, it seems they've almost become sticky with it. Does anyone know what causes this, how to prevent it, and how to clean it? Any help would be greatly appreciated. It seems on the other vehicles it mainly was forming where they were dusty. Does cold storage bring this on? |

Too much moisture in the air causes mold. You could try removing it with something like Tilex, but I'd test it first to make sure you don't damage anything valuable.

Find a $5 lady of ill repute and give her $10. She'll take care of it.

They were stored in a storage room, that I don't heat, as it receives enough heat from the kitchen below (vent in floor). I've never had a problem before, everything else in the room is fine, but my vehicles.

Bleach mixed with water.
wash, then dry, then let sit in open air until really dry. should solve the problem.

There is a product call "removezit" or something like that. Its good for removing the mold that seeps into the plastic. Use it well ventilated though and you paste it on for a day and it will kill the mold.
