Classified Iron Grenadier (#132)

Gave him an 8. Great looking figure but reuse of the weapons was a let down. I?d liked to have seen a new weapon and the Uzi for him.

I know a lot of people are too quick to always assume a retro version of a figure is coming, but I'm definitely 100% convinced this guy will get the retro treatment eventually and is a perfect example of when a retro version is warranted.

The retro version will also resemble his classic '88 look a lot more and probably have a more faithful loadout.

From your lips to god's ears. This was the BIGGEST disappointment for me for 2024 in terms of the Classified line. The Hasbro guys were on a roll recreating so many of my favorite COBRAs from years past and was looking forward to a 6" inch recreation of my beloved '88 IRON Grenadier and what did I get - the 2012 Joecon version (and with recycled legs none the less). If Hasblow does a retro version it's going to be almost completely retooled to the point where the only pieces of this disaster they might keep to use again are the head and chest strap.

I dig it, even the grey pants, provides a nice contrast. Just wish it was considered an officer, but hopefully a retro isn't too far off. A little bit of paint slop on mine, and a few of the weapons were warped. And I wish the sword had been packed separately outside the scabbard, as pulling mine out I noticed the metallic paint stuck in multiple places and chipped off. 8/10

This is a cool, menacing take on one of my favorite troopers and I do like it better than I thought I would but still... I gave it a 7, which is good but not great. I haven't been a big fan of those legs. I think it is the Turtle Comm kneecaps that bug me. Great boots though!

A cool figure.

Seeing that great pic from Samuntrus makes me wonder what kind of kitbash could be done to create an Iron-Viper, or an Iron Grenadier Viper, by combining the unique Viper helmet, legs/fatigue design with the IG torso, overcoat, and boots. I guess some gold accents might need added to his helmet, depending on what variation would be closest to the IG color scheme.

I gave him a 9. The skirt piece hampers articulation a little too much and I wish the helmet snapped into place a little more securely, but other than those two little nitpicks, it's a great figure.

It's OK. But it's more of what a Sgt Duncan or officer would look like. Waiting for the retro version.
