Released in November 2024 as part of Wave 17 in the Classified Series, the second version of Storm Shadow had been on many fans wish lists since Classified debuted in early 2020 and is finally here. For fans who may not be aware, this is the version of Storm Shadow that had turned from being a Cobra villain to becoming a member of the Joe team and a good guy.

Version 2 Storm Shadow, also sometimes referred to as "Camo Joe Storm Shadow" or just "Camouflage Storm Shadow", is a very nice figure featuring lots of new elements while also re-using quite a bit. The bright white and dark charcoal gray, almost black, camouflage ninja gi really look good paired with the hints of red paint apps here and there and definitely make the figure "pop" more. Hasbro gave him some more modern touches for his Classified release, like his skirt piece, belt with double-sword hip sheath, and chest armor, which all help make him look more updated. His shin armor is new and also features a very nice paint deco. There are some Classified fans who think he should have come with more new gear like his backpack or bow, but the re-use isn't that jarring and they do work well with him.

Version 2 Storm Shadow comes packed with the following gear and accessories: a backpack quiver, a compound bow with removable stabilizer, (2) katana swords, (2) alternate fists, (2) alternate chopping hands and (2) claws.





Using the poll options, rate the figure and vehicle on a scale of 1 to 10, 1 being a total miss and a 10 being plastic perfection, based on what you feel the figure (and vehicle) deserves. Ratings should take overall design, sculpt, paint apps and paint deco, accessories and articulation into consideration.

What a great figure , he?s a 10 for sure , once you take all the extra stuff off that seems to clutter him up he looks great , even with all the things I can name that are all nitpicks it?s not enough to deduct a single point off from him , he is a great figure I already kitbashed the crap out of him and gave him a backpack custom made for him ..

I will say not giving him a loose bolt for his back back is kind of bad especially when it should have been an arrow anyway ..

Love the character, love this version of the figure, love the update.

I bought a second copy to mod and make a bit more like the vintage figure by removing some gear, but I really like the updated look as well.

Docking a single point because I would have rather had a hood piece like Arctic Storm Shadow. Being able to adjust the hood over the figures eyes slightly would have gone a long way.

Regardless, great figure. Been waiting for this one for awhile.

88 Storm Shadow is my absolute favorite vintage figure so my hopes for this dude are sky high.

I'm gonna have to mod that silly waist thing though. Definitely gonna give him the other SS bow like 280-C did there...looks much better.

I plan on having him with just one claw and one sword, like the original figure.

If funds allow I'll try to get a second one to keep "stock" sometime...

He is in my top ten for the year. I thought they did a great job. I gave him a nine the only reason he didn't get a ten was because of all the reuse weapons that don't really fit on the backpack good. I actually gave him one of my night creepers crossbow instead of the bow he came with

Just got him today and haven't had a chance to put him through the motions, yet, but I'm already docking him a point for having the Night Creeper backpack, despite using a bow, not a crossbow, so the bolts don't make sense. And there's no place to store his claws or bow, because the NC backpack is designed for those swords and crossbow.

You can store the bow on his backpack, but I'm not sure it's how the design team intended. In fact it's probably not how it was intended cuz there is a clear lack of intention, ha. But you can use the bow string and the bow itself to keep it on the backpack. I have also seen people hook the claws onto the sword clips on the Night Creeper backpack. Will share an image once I am able, but I am not making an excuse, it is a clear oversight / lack of attention to detail.

I am clearly blinded by my love of the character and this version of his costume. In my opinion, pretty much all the gear he comes with sucks. I don't like most of Hasbro's swords and this figure is no exception. They are that awful silver plastic color instead of painted blades and they are dull and flimsy. The bow and backpack don't make sense together Either. I guess the claws are ok.

This isn't really affecting my score, although it probably should. The additional hand options are appreciated. More of those please.

I'm thinking about going kind of weird with mine. I like the old red sword and pack. I'm thinking of taking a Gridiron sword and painting it red and the blade a metallic red. Like it's a maj-ee-cal chopper or something.

Marauder makes great swords that are much cheaper than GIS.

I really like him. I wish they didn't make his belt so complex. It's just too much for a ninja. For now, I just removed it. I wish I still had my 1st Classified SS waist belt. At least this still looks ok.
