The backpack and lack of storage for his weapon is disappointing, and a removable hood and neck piece like the first Storm Shadow release would've been nice. Aside from those nit picks he's definitely a pretty solid figure, and an over all 8.

Gave him an 8. I guess I was expecting something different. He is great, but the belt/katana set up is a bit cumbersome and not my favorite, and the back pack just does not work for me. I want it to, and think the figure looks amazing, but too many just not rights for me.

This was the one figure I've waited for since the line was announced. V2 is a personal favorite and I was utterly disappointed with this release. I've loved climbing since I was a kid and though I loved Alpine, seeing my favorite Ninja come with a climbing rope and carabiners (molded, sure), my imagination ran wild. So much so that when the Sideshows Collectibles V2 came out I added a bit more to his load out. Let's just say he is ready for any ice wall to come his way. Anyway.. having the samurai swords on the hip and that crazy waist armor (he still has the rope and carabiners, so how is he supposed to climb like this?) on this figure just blows my mind. I stripped him of it and loaded him up with fodder from an earlier spare Storm Shadow. Perhaps I'm competing with a memory of a figure that I held in such high regard that they simply can't compete. Anyway, I gutted this one like a fish and made the figure I believe we should have gotten from the start.

Good figure - and I'm glad I have him... but I don't feel like he's worth more than 8 since I had to modify him so much. Removed his pouches and new straps - and added the lower tunic part from regular Storm Shadow. I like how he looks now - but his mask/hood still isn't perfect for me.

Maybe I?m being curmudgeonly here, but 9s and 10s seem like generous scores for a figure that half the board seems to have felt the need to modify.
I love SSv2 and so I do still very much like the classified version. However, at the same time, I remain somewhat disappointed with it. The skirt piece still looks out of place (to me) and that crappy bow and mismatched backpack have never left the box.

The way they did the hood/head on this one ruined it for me so I give it a 5. It has been a solid base and I'm slowly customizing him into a closer match to the memory I have of the vintage figure.

It?s not that deep.
Posts talking about his climbing gear in 1988? He was a mold in 1988 and came with no climbing gear lol. The classfied version they released did him complete justice. A classfied figure that actually doesn?t need mods. Yes he is perfect. Disagree. After all that?s all you all do here . What?s weird is knocking people?s scores. I gave him a 10. I couldnt give 2 shits you like that or not.( and for the readers who struggle with basic English “you” was used as in a general term- try not to make the word “you” about YOUrself. ? Give him a 1. Matters 0. What?s great about choice is its free.

Very torn on this. I do dig it as its own thing, but it doesn't scratch the itch as a representation of the V2 design. Obviously the added gear is the cause of that, but like DFender said, the hood is a big departure as well. The mods everyone's shown off look good, can't say I'll bother myself though.
Maybe they should've left off the grey camo and went full on redesign like the old PoC jungle figure and save a fully accurate V2 version for later. As for the score, I went with a 7 cause the backpack and bow are not good, grey paint is a bit sketchy in places on mine, and the knee joints were literally some of the tightest I've ever felt. ![]() |
