I really ended up enjoying this set more than I thought I would. The Falcon portrait is definitely an improvement, but I can't help but feel it looks huge / wide still. I dunno, maybe I'm scarred for life regarding how Falcon should look, ha. I had thought the Starduster portrait might make more sense for Falcon given how close it looks to Duke and considering Duke and Falcon are related. Then I saw a short on Youtube and I may be convinced. Now I gotta decide if I try to secure another copy of Starduster and swap out the portraits there for standard Falcon and NF Falcon, then either use the full helmet head on Starduster or my modified Kamakura unmasked head. HELP ME, I CAN'T STOP PLAYING MUSICAL HEADS AND WASTING MONEY ON EXTRAS FOR A SINGULAR PART! |

I've just picked mine up, wow, it's more impressive in person. I'm putting this set in my current display for sure.

I agree that the new head is a bit wide and blocky, I plan on heating it and pinching the jawline in a bit to see if that helps. The Starduster head looks pretty good, but different characters sharing the same head sculpt is something I really want to avoid. That sort of thing always bothered me in the 1/18th days and it's even more obvious now with the larger scale.

Falcon looks fine. His figures have always had a wide head. This certainly isn't the more chiseled face from the cartoon movie.

Yeah man, that's where things get complicated for me. I'd be getting another Starduster so that I can donate both heads to both versions of Falcon. Then I'd need to come up with another solution for Starduster's head so that they don't share portraits. All while knowing that Starduster will almost always be wearing his helmet and visor in my display.

You know what the worst part is? These kitbash/customs are usually rendered useless once Hasbro releases the figure I was trying to make. Take my custom retro Flint: I've spent a good amount of money on him since I used parts of 3 figures. And we all know they will release a retro Flint sooner or later that will probably be better than my custom anyway.

Could someone do me a solid and put OG Falcon's and/or Tunnel Rat's scarf on NF Falcon?

I will be able to a bit later. OG Falcon?s neck tie doesnt lay right, that was the first thing I tried. Good call on Tunnel Rat though.

7 overall.
Like Quarrel mostly. I'll give her an 8. Would have got more if we could see her chest honestly, but it's a decent start for the Action Force figures. Hoping to see some more AF UK figures. That's how I started back in the 80's. Falcon gets a 6. Honestly, just thinking of selling him off. He's not bad, but I guess I've just never really been into him. I took off Quarrel's shoulder pads. They are too bulky and when you take them off you can see the Z-Force logo on her arm, which is what I want. I put them on Shooter, who I've always thought was too skinny and it has bulked her up a bit so that she now looks OK. |
