Some have suggested clipping the handle for the claws in the middle to allow for the extra clearance. Another suggestion would be to try using another pair of hands that are a bit smaller. I've got mine holding pistols at the moment, but I've been contemplating cutting them. |

I will be honest I hated Raptor when I was a kid. Both he and Crystal Ball were what I considered the worst figures of the 1987 Cobra Line up. I loved Croc Master, Big Boa, Techno-Viper, and Battle Armor CC. But Raptor was just kind of well… dumb. A guy in a bird suit looked ridiculous to my 12 year old brain. However?
The Classified Raptor is actually really nice. I love the updated mech wings, and his sculpt is pretty cool. General Ledger is a little disappointing. Some articulation would have been nice; especially with the deluxe price point. That makes little sense to me. Over all though not bad. I gave him a solid 8. |

For me, this figure is better than it has any right to be. Raptor was a seriously goofy figure in 87 (he was actually one of the figures that started to cool my love of GI Joe as a kid) but I like the update. The new backpack looks great and suits the figure. A single peg isn?t ideal to hold a backpack this large but it?s far more secure than many classified backpacks. He gets an 8 from me.

I gave him an 8. He seems a lot better than he has any right to be based on his original ARAH figure imo. He loses points for the claws not fitting in his hands properly (wtf!?!). How does that even get okayed? And general ledger being a total miss for me. I totally agree he's the worse pet so far included in the line. Wish they gave him a non-hooded head and/or wings like Freedom. But his mechanical wings are great and love the homage to Spider-man Vulture (movie version) and Marvel's Falcon (also movie version). It's definitely a fun addition to the line. Also don't like how its hard to use a Hasbro flight stand with him due to how the backpack is so big. Am thinking of getting another flight stand to improve posability.

Great update of a ridiculous figure, but not quite a great figure. Very mixed bag, I think. The wings are excellent. The cowl looks pretty good but could be shorter and fit on the head more snugly/closely. The claws don't fit the hands well at all. General Ledger is..well...the bird kinda sucks. I like the headsculpt, even though it is a bit Dick Grayson (that's an adjective now). The deco is good. Most of the reuse is smart and the other new parts and bits are all pretty fantastic. 6/10
I'm convinced that one of Cory Cantelupe's responsibilities as sculpt manager was making sure that accessories actually worked with the figures that were getting them. Now it's no one's responsibility. Last edited by Snake Pants; 10-26-2024 at 02:01 AM.. |

For the deluxe pricepoint, I think he should have also come with a feather cape. That way we could have the 'updated' version or the 'classic' version.
I also think they need one more topless torso. I'm so tired of every guy being jacked... especially someone like Raptor. He should be more of a 'normal dude' build. Thinner, not a ripped. Don't need a six pack and perfect pecs on everybody. |

I don't collect these six inch scales, but they made him a bit better, Raptor can be a dope figure and unique character if created better with more animals or more like a Jungle predator.

Going to be bumping a few of the older figure threads from earlier this year in the next week in order to gather more votes before we start the Best of 2024 tournament in December. I'd like each figure to have at least 40 votes, the more the better.
Did you get Raptor? How'd you like him? Did the Cobra Falconer exceed your expectations? Was he a letdown? Vote now and let us know what you thought!

I gave him a 9/10. The claws were no issue as just dipped them in hot water for a proper fit, but deducted a point for the ill fitting cowl and unimpressive looking falcon. Despite the wings not being ARAH accurate I like them a lot.

I gave him a 10, but I really should have rethought that because of General Ledger being the worst bird in the line. But I had to give Lenny and the team credit for making Raptor pretty dang cool.
