I love the original Classified Stalker, but this is a near perfect copy of the OG figure. The camo tones are great and perfectly executed. I actually prefer the camo beret since it matches the original card art and Stalker is a Ranger, not a Green Beret. Not that there is anything wrong with the retro head sculpt, but I prefer the original and swapped it out. As much as I was looking forward to the black web gear I find he looks better with the original OD green gear. The only gripe I had with the first figure was the green boots...nobody wears green boots. I'm happy that this was fixed for the retro figure. I now have six original Stalker bucks serving as Steel Corps troopers. This guy gets a 9.

I ended up dying all the green boots black for use on my Stalker/Steel Corps troopers. I also dyed one green Stalker harness black which didn't take on the knife or grenade...it actually looks a lot more like the OG figure than the all black harness

Another option for a better looking Stalker headsculpt: ML Blue Marvel. Did have to paint on a 'stache

Made some more changes (well, just 2 actually) to my retro Stalker: painted the retro Stalker beret and gave him back the knife holster with some extra paint details

I like that look a lot and it makes me want to try changing up some stuff on mine now. The brown definitely helps helps contrast the black boots and does a better job of breaking up the colors.

I love Stalker and was originally looking forward to the Retro version. In the end, I cancelled my pre-order. The figure looked overly-glossly/plastic-y in appearance and combined with the lack of paint apps, seemed quite a step down from the excellent, if muted, mainline version.

That said, Freditor's tweaks look great!

I love this Stalker. I now use the previous Stalker as the land fatigues Torpedo.

After much thought.
Overall I don't think Retro Stalker looks that good compared
to some of the newer released Figures.

The all Black Web Gear looks texture less due to color
contrasting and the old reused head looks odd in this
context.


Minor note also is the Cart Art isn't even matched to
the figure's paint job.
