I gave him a 10. The color pops and, for some reason, he just moves a little bit better than the identically molded 1st release. Plus. I love me some Stalker.

I gave him an 8. Classic colors are great, but I got one of the lower leg faded color copies and my holster, knife sheath and magazine holder on the backpack all had a lot of flashing in them and had a hell of a time putting any of the gear away. Also, his webgear seems shorter than the original, like it shrunk in the wash or something. Still looks great with the rest of the OG13 though.

I have him a 9, but Stalker has always been one of my favourite Joes. The original release is better IMO, but this really hits the nostalgia buttons for me. I’m not loving the camouflaged beret but I guess it fits with the 1982 card art.

I love Stalker and I love this figure. The #46 Stalker was a great Classified Stalker, but this is the perfect Retro release. The colors pop, the paint is on point, the sculpt is just right, and the gear is spot on. My #46 got a Gridiron Studios load out, but this one goes on the display as-is.

I was actually going to dock him a point for the camo beret, which i replaced with the green one from #46, until Blueandwhite pointed out that's what is on the 1982 card. Somehow I'd never noticed that before in 40+ years. Because of that little bit of attention to detail, I give the camo beret a pass and the figure gets a 10 from me.

Looks great, love the retro vibe.

I switched berets with the other one.

My only real issues are that I would have liked a new head mold, and the legs/textured areas of the figure's camo appear slightly lighter than the non textured parts, as others have mentioned. Minor gripe though.

I love the retro Stalker colors. Love that they colored the beret instead of making it a solid green to match the 3.75" figure. I do, however, wish he had a better face sculpt.

So I initially didn't get Stalker because I wasn't a fan of the headsculpt. I just thought that he looked a bit too pissed off and more of an old man Stalker.
I did end up buying him after they revealed Alpine with the intent of doing some part swaps. Not saying that this looks like a perfect Stalker (he has the reverse issue in that he doesn't look stern enough imo) but I do think it's an improvement.
Incidentally, I think Stalker's head works better as an Alpine head (based on the artwork of the vintage figure)

I'll probably still get retro Stalker once he's available where I live to do some more kitbashing, thinking about retro Stalker's body with classified Stalker's beret and webgear

This is interesting. It is indeed the reverse problem now but I like the younger portrayal. I have also thought about swapping the gear from the original classified release but when you have them in hand, I feel like the web gear from the classified release doesn't have quite enough contrast against this new green of the retro and looks a bit washed out. If only it was a bit darker.

I also thought about getting a retro cobra trooper and using the web gear from one of those since it has more paint apps, but the gray might be too light.

Finally, I bet the web gear from retro Snake Eyes is perfect since it's black with dark green paint apps, but who would want to bust apart a hard to find figure to incrementally improve another?

I may have to give this a try when I get Alpine. I do like the look of Stalker, but the younger look really does fit him.

The first classified Stalker was too muted and gray for me. This one is much better. I gave him the solid green beret from the original - so he became much better. My only gripe is the lack of paint aps on his webgear. All webgear needs 3 colors minimum - imo. Solid black just looks cheap and half finished.
