Its cool perhaps i was a bit salty instead , can we still be friends with differing opinions , i wasnt trying to call you out , you quoted my post and that was it .. today was a day of days @ the job . So ill admit it i was salty and maybe a bit overbearing as well .. we cool ????

No problem at all, man - Yo Joe! Yes, I still love this brand and franchise, even if I'm not actively collecting Classified any longer. In retrospect, I probably should have just kept my vote to myself, since it is completely not objective (I don't own it). It was a bit of a bitch move, and that is on me. But yeah, I think we are cool as a cucumber now, and I appreciate the dialogue that came out of it.

Do you mind if I ask what made you stop? Just curious and obviously you don't have to if you don't want to. It just sort of bums me out for a second when I see someone say they stopped or are backing out. Feels like a loss to the community I guess. Regardless of which toy line it is, but even more so for Classified.

Hi DarthBrett, yes I'm happy to elaborate. I should point out that I am - and always have been - a Transformers collector first and foremost. I grew up with G1 and have been collecting as an adult since about 1995. But I grew up loving GI Joe too, and have always tried to split my time/energy/resources between the two.

When Classified hit, my goal was to just collect the "high points": basically those characters that I really have a soft spot for (Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow, Baroness, Firefly, CC, Barbeque, Serpentor, Dr. Mindbender, B.A.Ts, etc.). Not saying that there aren't characters that I like that have yet to be made, but by and large, I've kind of collected what I want out of Classified - and then some!

I have found in recent years though (Covid, post-Covid, inflation, recession, whatever) that the cost of collecting a second line, the space that it takes up, and most importantly, the extreme hypervigilance that must be exercised to get even the most mundane-seeming of figures, has taken a toll. I continue to be a Pulse Premium member mostly for Transformers, but really was ready to be done with the "watching and waiting" aspect of Classified. Then the OAMCC incident happened. I realize that he was a special case and was limited by design. But I had it in my cart, was ready to check out, and then *poof* gone before I could complete payment. The aftermath of that experience really made me take stock of what I choose to direct my money, time and energy on. So I came to the realization that Classified just couldn't be one of those things any longer.

I'm sorry if my answer was overlong, or not what you wanted. But I was doing my best to articulate the way I feel about my own experiences collecting Classified in recent years. As I said though, I still love GI Joe and always will. I still work on customs from time to time, and I still like the original o-ring figures a lot! I appreciate this fandom and intend on still being a part of it, even if that means that Classified is no longer for me.

I get it, sometimes you get burned out or just stop wanting to spend the energy, time or money on something. I certainly understand the space thing as I recently moved into a fairly small single bedroom apartment after living in big house. It forced me to pick and choose which lines I could still collect without filling up space as quickly. I stopped collecting TMNT Ultimates and MOTU Origins and just focus on a couple of lines now.

Generous of you to give away the ME collection. That collection was awesome but aged poorly compared the the later 50Th and no hiya toys.

Finally got mine this weekend and I am giving him a 10/10.

Really fun figure to add to the line and I think was a good choice for a con exclusive. Only nitpick would be I think he would have benefited from some alternate snake hands and make a newly tooled right leg with his snake form underneath and tear through the pants (maybe a torn pant leg accessory could have slid on his leg, just like a holster or sheath) and a snake foot on his right leg as well. But that is not enough to knock him down to a 9 for me.

I also liked the neat removable faceplate on this figure and appreciate the details inside with the tech gadgetry and the outside details on actually show it being all shattered and cracked. Love that!

37 years later and we finally have this guy in toy form! Really hope we eventually see Cobra Commander in his Cobra-La Nobleman form (when he has the blue skin and is a scientist or chemist) in the Classified line. Would be a great compliment to this figure too.
