Yeah, that thing snapped right off the first time I was messing with it and I was thinking "oh shit... did I break it already?"... luckily, it just pops right back in.

Did you pick him up recently? How would you rate him and his two pet companions?

I'll make it a point to try to get to mine tonight. While I've been checking out the ones here-and-there I picked up for my son, I haven't had time to open mine and have a huge stack, since around Grunt. :(

Is his bow the gummiest accessory in the line?

Definitely one of the gummiest for me. I think Desert Commando Snake Eyes' sword was almost as bad for me as well.

Okay, so initial thoughts. I'm not going to ding the figure for reuse, nor having pins. Reuse is the name of the game across the board, and I actually prefer pins to pinless (in 99.9% of the cases you can actually fix a problematic joint if it has pins, whereas pinless, you're basically fucked, plus they're easier for customs/kitbashing - which would've helped move the set currently warming at Targets across America).
I like all the little nods to the OG figure (who was one of my favorite Knoks). My weapons were a little bit gummy, but nowhere near what we were getting earlier. I haven't yet decided if I'm going to remove the tampo on the scars yet. That's a cool addition to the character, but they do look like a desperate denial-combover at a distance. I know you can't see them with the hat on, but I know they're there. lol Yobbo is awesome. I didn't expect him to really have any articulation, so he's exactly what I expected (I wonder if the eyepatch is a nod to Barranca from Raiders). I would've bought the set for Porkbelly, alone. I never would've thought I'd dig a 1:12 articulated punkrocker warthog as much as I do, and Hasbro absolutely delivered. My gripes are few and relatively nitpicky. I wish they'd given Gnawgahyde a longer neck, as he's a bit squat, especially when you have the vest and both necklaces on (I took off the dogtags). Since it's the older buck, simply swapping out the upper barbell is a no-go, and matching the skintone with a modern neck is a PITA. The lack, of pack straps, like Bazooka, is again, annoying, and one of those attention to detail issues that they should be doing better at this scale. At 3 3/4", a "floating" quiver and/or rifle case is easily dismissed. At 1:12, it looks bad. I love the fact that the rifle breaks down, but if you're going to include the case, make sure it works. Everything fits in its place, but with the rifle in the case, the case snaps closed, but won't close flush, despite heat treatments to both the rifle and the case. My final gripe is that they gave Gnawgahyde the Anarchy tat vs. the "no GI Joe" tat. I didn't "knok" it for that (:p), but I'd have liked the OG tattoo better. Wonder what the story is there. Well worth the purchase at MSRP, but if you can find it for $30 or less, as I've seen at Targets currently, even better!

I really wonder why they did decide to do the anarchy symbol tattoo instead of the "NO JOES" tattoo. Wonder if it was a mistake or intentional? But like you, it wasn't enough for me to dock the figure a point. I have contemplated touching up the scars too, something is off about the paint applications (a little too shiny and maybe little too much paint used?), but again, a very minor nitpick for me.

You're review is spot on how I feel about Gnawgahyde, from him being a favorite 'Nok of yours to how this one measures up to the original, and how it also disappoints compared to that one.

Maybe Lenny will be gracious enough to explain the tat decision on a stream or something. I'm sure we're not the only two curious about that. As for the scars, I think that they're too dark, which makes them too close in color to his Lemmy stache.
