Released in March 2024 as part of a new deluxe assortment commemorating G.I. Joe's 60th anniversary celebration, the Action Sailor Recon Diver pays homage to the classic version of the original 12" Naval toy from the 1960s. This time the figure is in the 6" scale and updated with modern aesthetics with all of the sculpt details, super articulation and accessory loadouts that collectors have come to expect and appreciate in the Classified series. The Action Sailor is a nice figure which re-uses the Torpedo buck. He comes packed to the gills with loads of weapons and accessories, a lot of them being new and some being re-use. The amount of gear gives him lots of playability and display options and gives fans more troop-building variety as well.
The Action Sailor Recon Diver comes absolutely packed to the gills with the following weapons, gear and accessories: a spear gun, a sub-machine gun with removable ammo clip, a dagger, a pistol, a sound suppressor (which can attach and be used with either the sub-machine gun or the pistol), a removable wrist device, a pair of diving flippers, an alternate head, a removable SCUBA mask with rebreather tank and harness (which attaches to his diving vest), a removable navigation broad diving gauge (which can be attached to his harness tank), a oxygen tank backpack, a submersible SCUBA jet scooter with detachable fan piece, a diving horse collar, a satchel, a set of removable dog tags and a stand. Using the poll options, rate the figure on a scale of 1 to 10, 1 being a total miss and a 10 being plastic perfection, based on what you feel the figure deserves. Ratings should take overall design, sculpt, paint apps and paint deco, accessories and articulation into consideration. Thanks for voting and Yooo Joe!!! Gave this guy a 9. I love it and it looks great when he's fully geared up. I also love that you can use some of this guy's gear for Torpedo or the Eel.

What's reused from Torpedo is generally quite smart, although the rebreather that goes on his back can't hook up to anything and is completely unnecessary since there's a rebreather in front. Navy SEALs and Marine recon divers typically don't wear a rebreather on their back anyway, so I left that shit in the box.
The new parts are fantastic, and I love the clear goggles. Since there's nothing all that close to a Sig 226 in Classified, the reuse of Stalker's pistol is good, as I'm 99% sure that Marine recon divers use a 1911 variant. My one complaint is that the straps for the knife sheath and thigh pouch are chunkier (less clean) than they are on Torpedo. I like this figure a lot. I give it a 9. 7.
Action Sailor is a better release than the infantry. He feels alot more cohesive than soldier and his big special accessory, the swim assist, feels alot more worthwhile than the poncho that came with soldier. He still doesn't quite feel like he justifies the 34.99 price point. I think both of these releases at $30 feel alot better. Their higher price hurts them because they feel generic and army buildable but that's a tough act at $35.
