Really happy to have preordered this figure yesterday although I feel like it's a shameless and manipulative cash grab on the part of Hasbro to pack him with a RAM repaint. The RAM looks awesome but I was really hoping for a single release. I'm also not looking forward to being milked by Hasbro this way down the road but I am sure I will put up with it.
His gear looks more on track and I don't mind the use of Firefly accessories, especially the backpack which was sorely missed in his initial release. They switched his legs out for the conventional green shirt lower half which isn't horrible to me, but I am wondering why they wouldn't give him a second leg holster. I would have totally preferred the omission of the heavy machine gun in place of a second holster and pistol, since this is very much a release on par with its ARAH counterpart. I'm more of a fan of the Night Force rendition of Shockwave and I feel like this is a better version all around. It's just funny to me, kind of..they'll give Tiger Force Flint a wicked leg sheath for a machete (which is great) but leave out stuff on this figure? Their creative decisions confuse me sometimes. |

Yea, it's not really shockwave.
It's a Steel Brigade figure with a Shockwave name stuck on at last minute. And silly me. With the parts and paint I saw I was expecting. . . >>>>[NIGHT FOX]<<<<< As the name. Figure looks good, which is nice.

I'm annoyed by the price creep, but the accessory loadout is significantly higher than it was with Breaker on the original RAM, and also looks to be a bit more than we got with Duke, as well.

Include me in the, why is it packed with the ram crowd. He would be an easy buy by himself for the normal price point. At $55 I find myself wanting to pass on a character rendition I would normally want. Also I have no space and therefore no use for the vehicle so that drives the value down for me.

Since there is so much difference with the lower legs and stuff I think this may end up being a different character in my world, just not sure who yet.

The price creep is real and annoying. Makes it hard to army build vehicles, although in 2024 you can't really even afford to army build 3.74 vehicles.
Shockwave is disappointing as a figure but I imagine they wanted a "named" character with it (they being Walmart). It's basically a Night Force Steel Brigade. |

I passed on it when I found out it was Shockwave. I'm still waiting for a male Steel Corps on a new buck with muted colors.

Yeah, I had the link up and waiting on the release, then decided to pass for now. My collection is crowded right now and the whole package is not worth it. And the price was higher then expected.

What I find incredible is that the $55 dollar price point is yet another Hasbro price test to gouge us even more.
Yes, Chris Cocks looked at the taste of failure over 1.5 yeara of losses and is trying to repeat the same strategy. He literally can not understand high school level Price Supply Demand curves. Hilarious.
