Released as part of Wave 15 in March 2024, the COBRA BATTLEFIELD TECHNICIAN has always been a popular Cobra troop builder since 1987 and then again in 2011 with the excellent Pursuit of Cobra figure. The Classified Techno-Viper captures the original's design perfectly with just a few updates which borrow heavily off of the ME 2011 figure (the backpack and its orientation for example). Looking at this figure you would never guess it's mostly re-use from Tripwire, but new boots and a new torso help freshen him up and make him super faithful to the classic design. The helmet sculpt on this figure is also really done well and has that Darth Vader/Cylon look that fans of this Cobra trooper have always loved. He also comes with all-new accessories and gear (save for the electrical cable) that really help make him standout among your other Cobra troops.
The Techno-Viper comes packed with the following gear and accessories: an electrical power pack (which can stow his three power tools), a pulse rifle, an electric cable hose (which attaches to the rifle and backpack), a pistol, (3) power tools - a power wrench, a power claw and a power hammer (all of which can attach to the cable and can also be stored in his backpack) and a HUD holographic readout projection (that attaches to his wrist gauntlet armor). Note that his two wrist gauntlets can also be removed easily. Using the poll options, rate the figure on a scale of 1 to 10, 1 being a total miss and a 10 being plastic perfection, based on what you feel the figure deserves. Ratings should take overall design, sculpt, paint apps and paint deco, accessories and articulation into consideration. Thanks for voting and Yooo Joe!!! 9 for me in design, paint, accessories, and homage to ARAH but not 10 because I got six and all of them have extremely tight joints. I can't even move or pose them without some effort.

I gave him a 9
Im not a big complainer about problems with figures or figures in general .in terms of quality hes well made and i like the colors both of mine have tight but not too tight joints if it was the other way around they would be complaining about loose joints instead . I have no issues w/either of mine i gave it a 9 because its kind of clonky which i guess a cobra mechanic would need to be if dressed in full gear year round . He has a lot of detail and the colors are really well done im just not a fan of the digital readout thing he comes with . I like that there is an option to have it on either wrist but it probably wont be ever used .

I love this guy. Love the purple, the yellow eyes, the silver trim and Cobra sigil, the pulse rifle, the power tools. He just rocks! I touched up mine and added silver and gun metal to his belt buckle, his holster studs/buttons, the packs on his belt, his backpack and power tools and it just gave the figure even more...pizzazz lol
Easy 10. This whole wave is a 10 though.

I scored him as 9. The figure looks great to me. I love the colors and the update on the helmet deign is perfect. He has his full complement of classic accessories which are all new, well-sculpted and can be stored on the figure. I do think the tools could have been scaled up a bit but no big deal.
There are 2 minor niggles which, when combined, were just enough to stop me scoring him as a 10. The backpack peg position means that the backpack seems to ride too high up on his back when the backpack has the cylinders at the bottom, and with the cylinders at the top, the hose seems to be too short to attach to the weapon. Secondly, the solid black plastic knee joint result in an awkward black strip up the back of each knee. It isn’t particularly noticeable but could have been avoided. Overall though, I think he is another excellent figure in a really great wave.

I love this figure, but the way they did the knees absolutely disgusts me.
The backpack sits a little high, but whatever. I just can't abide those knees being black. If they didn't have the budget to paint the kneepads I think they should have just left the whole thing purple. Two points off for the knees is probably harsh, but I give it an 8 - minus a point for each knee. |

8 for me, waste is a bit off and wobbly, and I realize I may not be as big a Techno-Viper fan as I thought I was. Weapons and pack are cool and the HUD display is cool, but the bicep cut makes positioning his arm so he can see the display challenging and stretches out the shoulder pad. Glad I only went with one of these guys, but not the worst figure ever (looking side eye at Buzzer & Artic Storm Shadow)

I gave him a 10. He's one of my favorites out of the new releases. I remember getting the original as a kid so nostalgia plays a big factor in it. I didn't like the fact they only gave him one hose. But no one uses two tools at once anyways. I do want to find a traffic cone to go with my three

Drilled a 2nd hole into my Techno-Viper's back so I can display him with it on either way. Picked up an extra hose since his pack has two separate hookups. Added some silver paint apps to his belt, belt boxes, holster studs, backpack and power tools. Excellent figure! I've read some folks on here had loose waists but got lucky and mine is super stiff and A-OK.

Great figure. I wasn't sure about it until I saw it in person and picked it up.
