Hey guys, I'm having trouble with several new classified figure (general Hawk, low light, Desert snake eyes, mole rats), where the waist joint will not turn and when I attempt to the ball peg stem starts to warp/wind up. I have tried boiling water and that frees up the joint and the waist turns like it is supposed to until the figures cool down. Once they do I'm back at square one. Should I sand the ball joint or maybe try to dremel the torso hole to make it a touch bigger? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Now, if I get a fig that feels tight, I lightly sand the ball so that the spikes aren?t too aggressive. Works great and no more busted figs. You may want to do the same. Be gentle with the sanding. Too much will make the joint loose. Sand just a little, reassemble and check the joint. Go slow. |

I work on classfied figures religiously and unless you are actually modding them by switching parts I?ve never needed anything more than heat to loosen stock figures.

Heat it up with a heat gun, hair dryer, or sterilizer. 30- 45 seconds. That boiling water bs should have never made it past someone?s thought process.
I work on classfied figures religiously and unless you are actually modding them by switching parts I?ve never needed anything more than heat to loosen stock figures. I also work on classified figures regularly i have scalding hot water on demand next to my sink i run any tight joint/swivel whatever under it to loosen it up .. not everybody here has a ?sterilizer? I've used the hot water trick since the early 2000?s on hundreds of figures and its worked perfect on everything ive previously modded/customized , a heat gun will work but slower , a hair dryer that is the worst thing to use . Super hot water and a pair of tongs is the best bet for 90% of the people on here that arent slicescustoms .. Hope this helps .

In my experience it will warp the part its not concentrated heat like a heat gun its just blowing hot hair instead of pushing the heat towards the item .. but i also havent used a heat gun to take apart a figure since 2005 maybe earlier i like my scalding hot water on demand lever on my sink and will continue to use it that and a pair of tongs ..
Just my 2 pennies worth ..
