I'm sure this has been covered somewhere here already, but I am unable to find it via a search.
Is there a fix to free up a frozen hip joint on Classified figures? I have so many figures where the legs won't bend forward at the hips like they're supposed to, they just twist/stress the plastic bar they're attached to instead. They swing out to the side just fine, of course. What's the solution? |

I think the best way to free up joints and honestly should be done as soon as you open up any Classified figure, is the hot bath method. Just heat up a bowl or glass container filled with water (bring it up to a low boil) and then after heating up the water, place the figure in the water with some tongs and let it sit and soak (or "bathe") for about a minute or so. Then remove it with the tongs and put it on a towel and dry it. Move all the joints around and they should work great even after cooling from that point on!

Thanks for the advice! I've used that method for a lot of other stiff joints, but wasn't confident it would help with the hips, since the pin the hip is attached to already seems so soft and pliable. But I'll give it a shot!

Agreed ive been using boiling water to take figures apart across many lines for years its also a proven effective method to tighten or loosen/free up joints ..

I've always just used a hair dryer. I don't know if it works as well as boiling water, but it's always worked for me. And the figures don't get wet.
