Action, pro Military, imagination and the bad guys. There should have been a vehicle option.

It's the fantasy for me, the escapism I can get lost in.

I picked every option except for realism, though I do appreciate the realistic weapons and vehicles, they aren't what make or break GIJ for me. I love everything about it. The action, adventure, military themes, over-the-top villains, crazy weapons, the fantasy, the sci-fi. All of those things combined make G.I. Joe what it is.

There's nothing wrong with that. It would seem that realism is this poll's Ace. That made me do a double-take. I know it isn't popular opinion, but I think Zartan would've been stronger without family ties but I also think Zandar and Zarana were strong enough to have a place in the franchise without Zartan. |

Wow tough question. I guess I like how there's something for everyone. I like different aspects above others, at different times. It's in constant flux, I can never decide completely.

I agree. Having Zandar and Zarana NOT be related to Zartan would have been better, in my opinion. I can only assume that Hasbro wasn't sold on them in 1986, and thought making them Zartan's siblings would help them sell.

So many aspects, but I think for me it's mostly imagination and fantasy because I enjoy making my own head canon and lore with the characters. I also chose "other" for the nostalgia and the culture.
I think it's OK to be a "nerd" now with less scrutiny in times past. I did not choose realism because I'm about 60/40 with that. I like my small arms to be realistic, which is why I hate 95% of the included weapons even after Hasbro made the shift towards more realistic looking small arms. However, I am OK with aspects of fantasy with some of the vehicles, geography, fictional histories, groups, etc. |
