The shoulder joint on my Range Viper (HISS Fire Team) is completely frozen. I have heated it to no avail. The arm is out away from the body in an awkward way.
Can I pop the arm out and get to the joint? I know I did this with Hawk, but that was accidental because it was not popped in all the way. I think he had different butterfly joints. Can anyone speak to this? |

Okay, I need more help.
I boiled the figure and popped the arm. However, the butterfly joint came out with it, and I am having trouble getting it back in. Does anyone have advice to offer in this regard, please? |

Yeah, I was gonna suggest using a plastic spudger to separate the shoulder from the butterfly joint when I saw this thread but I was out picking up a rental. I've done this plenty of times and had that happen before. Because the torso is made of a harder plastic heating it up to reinsert the butterfly joint bottom peg won't work that way. Heat up the bottom peg instead and use something flat and rigid to put pressure on it to pop it back in. The top peg doesn't require this as it's not a mushroom peg. It may take a few times but you'll eventually get it.

Nothing I do can get the mushroom peg back into the hole on the torso so that o can get the butterfly joint to seat. I think I will either have to dremmel out the hole or, more likely, shave the mushroom peg down.
I do not want to do either and risk destroying this figure, which has been one of my most anticipated of the year (as it is my Body Bags stand-in). Does anyone have any technique I should try? |

I am really struggling here. No amount of force seems able to get the mushroom peg into the hole. I think I?m going to have to shave away the plastic.

Appreciate that it’s a long shot - but you could try to see if Pulse would send you a replacement. I know they are out of stock but they sometimes seem to have a few extras from last minute cancellations etc.

I might have to do that or see if I can buy a loose one here or on eBay. I have been working at this for hours and do not seem to be getting anywhere. I have the shock oil out and am not carefully whittling away the plastic in both the mushroom and the hole. I am at the end of my rope here.
