Released as part of Wave 14 in December 2023, General Hawk was first revealed by name only during the 2022 Pulse Con livestream. Classified fans speculated on whether or not this would be the blonde, flattop wearing colonel in army green duds from 1982; or his older and brown-haired General version from 1986. Fans finally got their answer at SDCC this past summer! General Hawk captures the look of his '86 design with minimal updates, but he really didn't need much to change since the design was fairly timeless to begin with. General Hawk is surprisingly mostly re-use from a few different figures (Big Ben's arms, Tomax & Xamot's hands and Outback's crotch sleeve, legs and boots), but he features a stellar, all-new head sculpt and an all-new torso for his trademark bomber jacket of course. The paint deco on him is very well-done as well, including the touch of gray in his hair to the worn leather on his jacket to the fruit salad he wears on his chest.
General Hawk comes loaded with the following gear and accessories: a shotgun rifle, a removable helmet, (2) pairs of removable goggles (one for wearing on his helmet and one for wearing on his head), (2) pistols, a removable shoulder holster and a grenade launcher. Using the poll options, rate the figure on a scale of 1 to 10, 1 being a total miss and a 10 being plastic perfection, based on what you feel the figure deserves. Ratings should take overall design, sculpt, paint apps and paint deco, accessories and articulation into consideration. Thanks for voting and Yooo Joe!!! Damn near perfect. But, I strongly dislike the dents and patches on his helmet (also the rim isn't painted and the straps make it sit funky. It's already kind of loose). Unbecoming dress for a General. While he isn't exactly a flashy figure I think he's one of the most well executed figures in the line. In the same way that Grunt is.

Gave him a 10.
Another great fig. Only gripe is I would have preferred his backpack over the shotgun/grenade launcher. Last edited by GI FLINT; 12-07-2023 at 05:32 PM.. |

See. That's an easy half point for me lol. Unless I can say "No complaints/nitpicks" no one gets a perfect 10.

Excellent figure. Jacket and headsculpt are perfect.
Deducted 1 point total for leaving out the backpack and throwing in 2 reused weapons, the hand reuse being a strange choice, and the helmet being a little loose.

Clearly, I disagree. Loose helmet with dents not fully painted and no backpack get a full point deduction. A 9 is still an EXCELLENT score. I think he also should have had at least one more set of hands as well. One of which should have been a pointing finger. It makes sense for Hawk.
EDIT: Shoulder articulation scheme is visually cleaner but does not work as well.

I gave him a 10. The lack of a backpack doesn't bother me since you never saw him wear it really and even in the original artwork it was not present. Only things he could use is the extra set of hands (easy to do) and some more weathering on the jacket. I like the dents in the helmets, shows that he has seen some shtuff. If we could do halves I would give him a 9.5, in which case I round up anything past 0.49.
I gave him a spare Duke backpack as a backup. I think TF Dusty's backpack also looks good on him.

I'm going to go 10 for this one, I like the selection of guns plus the paint's some of the best I've seen in the line.
