Released in October 2023 as a Pulse exclusive in the deluxe assortment, Tripwire is a great example of how the Joe Team can make a figure/character that may not have always been one of the most popular may have even been considered "dull" to some, and turns them into an absolutely awesome figure that makes everyone want to pick it up. Tripwire also comes with enough accessory options that you can choose to gear him up to look more like his '80s version, or if you want, make him look more like he is right out of 2023. And that is a win-win for all of us. Also for the first time ever, Tripwire comes with not only one, but TWO pet companions! Apsara, his little pet African pouched rat that helps him find land mines out in the battlefield, and M.A.C.L.E.O.D. - which stands for Mobile Armored Control Lever for Explosive Ordnance Disposal (named after G.I. Joe YouTuber and host of the Full Force podcast, Christopher MacLeod), a remote-controlled drone that helps Tripwire pick up those dangerous mines that lil' Apsara helped sniff out for him.
Tripwire comes loaded with the following gear and accessories: (2) removable helmets (one classic-styled, the other is modern), a mine storage backpack, (2) land mines (which curiously, one does not plug-in and fit into the pack like the other ones does), a mine sweeper, (2) removable neck guards, (2) removable armor gear pads (one is lighter and more classic-inspired, the other is much bulkier and more modern), a pistol, a remote device for the drone, a multi-articulated drone (M.A.C.L.E.O.D.), (2) removable shoulder pads, a detachable cable (that hooks up from the backpack and attaches to the mine sweeper) and a pet rat (Apsara). Using the poll options, rate the figure on a scale of 1 to 10, 1 being a total miss and a 10 being plastic perfection, based on what you feel the figure deserves. Ratings should take overall design, sculpt, paint apps and paint deco, accessories and articulation into consideration. Thanks for voting and Yooo Joe!!! Hey, a figure I have, finally! lol
I wanted to give this one a 10, because it's way better than it has any right to be, but mine has an issue with the right arm popping off when posing, so I had to go 9. It's easy enough to plug the arm back on to the peg, but it should be better constructed, so I don't have to do that.

I've started voting things '9' just to leave room for the truly PERFECT releases. Tripwire is very deserving of high marks. I love how Lenny and crew take the most mundane, 'average' characters - and blow them up into something really special.
I am not a fan of Tripwires floppy vests... especially the second one. I do think did a great job giving a removeable helmet though... and I definitely love that he has a full headsculpt underneath. (everybody knows that's a pet peeve of mine) edit - it should be noted that Tripwire also looks really good with NEITHER vest on. His body sculpt is all new, and really nice. I currently have him standing with the team on my shelf without wearing either vest. This is probably my favorite look for him. I can't wait to see who else they make out of this body. 6-He's fine. I don't like the feeling of swapping the vest and while the modern look is a nice inclusion, it's hard to justify $35 for Tripwire. He's not a marquee character in my mind and in hand it feels like he could have had a decent $25 release (with less stuff of course).

Sorry meant to type $35. Let me go fix that. Though that is what you're paying for a Pulse exclusive $35 without Premium

Easy 10 for me. A little biased since he was my first single-carded Joe I ever got (along with the MOBAT, Cobra Commander and the Cobra Officer) on X-Mas eve 1983. Despite that, he's still a 10. And also a Classified figure of the year candidate for sure!

9 - Dinging a point over the posts on the mines, but well executed figure overall. I like the display options that build on the original concept and the rat is a really nice touch. I put his alternate EOD outfit on an extra Stalker I had picked up for $5 just so that I could keep both displayed.

9. Deducted 1 point because of that rat.

8. I really love the figure, but I'm deducting a point because the left arm is a bit prone to popping off and another point because of those dumb pegs on the mines.
