Released as part of Wave 12 in June 2023, the popular "Missile Specialist" had already been released in his TF deco earlier in the year but this time we get to see him in his classic '85 red and blue football jersey (a homage to New England Patriots' player Steve Grogan, who wore #14 for 16 seasons in the NFL and was their starting QB from 1975 to 1983) with army green pants and helmet. Bazooka is a beast of a figure and comes with his trademark '80s 'stache and giant rocket launcher. Bazooka doesn't have too many updates other than his gear, but that's perfectly okay because he probably didn't need any. Another example of the perfect blend of classic meets modern in Classified.
Bazooka comes with the following gear and accessories: a removable helmet, a rocket launcher, (4) removable missile rockets, a missile pack, which carries his rocket launcher and rockets. It's worth mentioning that two of the missile rockets that come with Bazooka for this release feature extra paint apps that were not seen on the TF release. His rocket launcher also has a port to place 2 rockets inside and allows you to use blast effects to display him firing it off at Cobras! **NOTE** Despite the fact that the rest of WAVE XII comes in the new black, plastic-free packaging, Bazooka comes in the older blue, plastic-free packaging. Using the poll options, rate the figure on a scale of 1 to 10, 1 being a total miss and a 10 being plastic perfection, based on what you feel the figure deserves. Ratings should take overall design, sculpt, paint apps and paint deco, accessories and articulation into consideration. Thanks for voting and Yooo Joe!!! I gave the TF Bazooka an 8, knocking off a point for lack of paint on the rockets and lack of accessories beyond the bazooka. This one gives you paint on the rockets, but still doesn't give him any alternate weapons. Plus, he's in hideous plastic-free packaging, which makes him look like he got into Bane's Venom supply. So he loses the point he regained for the painted rockets and lands at an 8, just like the TF figure.

I'm 8 too, I found I liked the TF variants in this line mote but the figure is fun in 1/12 scale except for the plastic-free box.

I gave him a 10. I like the deco on v1 Bazooka more than the TF deco and this figure is a perfect update of the '85 figure for me. Both versions have one of my favorite head sculpts in the line too. His face, the 'stache, the hair. He has tons of character and looks great!

I gave him a 9 (would've been a 9.5 if half scores were available but rounded down due to the nature of the half-point). You know who he is without a doubt. He's almost perfect, but at this scale, with this level of detail, having a backpack float on a jersey is an unforgivable oversight. They should've given him straps. Also, a secondary would've been nice and feels like a penny-pinching omission on a character that's already straight re-use.

Highest rated figure that I do not own. Not sure if I will own him. I love the Tiger Force paint scheme even more than this red version. (I just love the white, burnt orange, and blue) The Freddy Mercury headsculpt is so iconic. If I ever happen to see this red version at a discount, I'll definitely pick it up for the rockets alone. Such a cool detail.
* edit - has anyone make a good custom of Bazooka wearing blue pants? Jeans-ish? His color scheme would look great without the green - imo. Last edited by captain mal; 09-05-2023 at 05:50 PM.. |

I've started to prioitize opening my plastic-free figures over my windowed figures but I like my TF figure so much I have left him out on my display.

One of my favorites. So glad he was added to the line. I like the size of him, too, compared against other figures. I deducted 1 point because I'm not 100% sold on the box art. It's got that Sunbow goofball influence on his swagger but I never understood why they made him dim-witted. Also, he could've benefitted from a sidearm.

I love Bazooka I voted a 10. Probably feel he is closer to a 9.7 though. Just wish he had a harness for his pack. That is my only gripe. It is a fantastic figure that captures the essence of the original 1985 character. I mean look at that mustache!
