There's plenty of 1/18 scale collectors, there's pleny of people to fund small scale kickstarters or Super7 niche lines, there is not enough support to $22+ figures on pegs. Even if there were, poor distribution would cause it to suffer like ME retro did

I feel like there still is a market for ME Joes. Alot of those things go for good money on Ebay, especially Collector's Club stuff.
Even buying a lot of 25 Iron Grenadiers would up costing me $200 by the time the bidding dust settled. |

I wonder how many people that just started collecting again because of Classified would jump Into ME 4” joes. I know personally I would much rather spend my money on 4” as opposed to 6”.

Classified got me back into Joes after being out since 94, and that led to me collecting ME.

Classified brought me back to toy collecting, but after seeing a bunch of ME joes for the first time at a con recently I don?t see the appeal. They didn?t look that much different from the vintage figures. Do people collect these so that they can have an on-card figure at a discount compared to vintage?

I want my figures to evolve and not remain like they were. Hence my growing distaste for "retro" Star Wars. |

I absolutely loved the ME line when it was new in 2007 and really enjoyed it for the 8 or 9 years it was in stores. But I also readily admit the ME stuff has lost most of its luster for me now 15+ years later. I'll always view it with rose-tinted glasses with lots of nostalgia, and I have a ton of great memories collecting the ME line and coming on here. But for me, the figures just did not age well for the most part and had a lot of design weaknesses. I think the ARAH o-rings have actually aged a lot more gracefully than most of the ME stuff did in terms of sculpts and articulation and overall design aesthetics.
I got rid of my ME collection last year and have zero regrets. But it is G.I. Joe, so of course it still has appeal with lots of us and I totally get why it does.

I still don't know why we never got a factory painted ME Duke from Hasbro or the club. Here is my copy of HissHissFangFang's version of what we could have gotten:
