The switch to pure cardboard did not make any difference to me at all, I literally could not give less of a toss about it.

No impact. I personally prefer the plastic packaging but I also open the figures and throw all the packaging away. Since I order them all online, I could receive them in nothing but a paddled mailing envelope and it would be fine with me.

I've walked straight past the Hasbro cardboard merch so many times. I've been trained by toy companies since I was 3 years old to look for figures on cards in plastic bubbles. The cardboard does not stand out on the shelves and doesn't immediately scream action figure.

Also really hate that you can't see the size, painting, and other details of the figure. I used to buy a lot of figures I wouldn't have otherwise because after seeing them on a bubble I realized it was perfect fodder for a custom.

I don't buy anything at a store that I can't see. I generally hate the way Amazon treats packaging, but I find myself caring much less about that right now, and my amount of preorders with them has increased lately because it's easier to exchange a figure with misaligned eye deco or funny colored elbows than it would be at BBTS or EE.

I'm not a fan of it to be honest. Still most of my stuff I either get from specialty shops or online so there is a SIGNIFICANTLY less chance of the figures being tampered with.

As an opener I much prefer the plastic free packaging. It's easier to recycle, or keep if the box art is cool.

I hate some of this art though. I couldn't recycle Zarana's packaging fast enough.

Hasbro already has an average customer service rating of 2-1.7 out of 5 stars pre mass firing. That's barely above Megalopolis scam's 1.5 out of 5 and Sears the bankrupt no money dudes with a 1.3 out of 5

Now that the plastic free shit is out and the defect rates that come with it, what shit tier of customer service are people getting replacements gonna get this year lol?

Also, the high defect rate gets paid out by Hasbro's shrinkage insurance coverage which means the insurance company then increased their premium payment costs. Bet your ass that's a reason why prices went up last year to cover for this stupidity. Gotta spend money to lose even more money!!!
