Have you heard of people using clear nail polish to ?thicken? parts on hinges/canopies for Joe vehicles. I know at some point I came across someone who did that for some vehicle to give a canopy or gun mount a little more stability rather than have it loosely connected and not able to stay in a certain position. Epoxy might do the same thing.
Clear nail polish, floor polish, a dab of super glue all work. |

It's been so long, but I think my OG Skystriker used to have this same issue unless I slammed the slide back when closing the wings/gear

I tried loosening and tightening the screw for the tail hook - my thought being that when I apply pressure to it the landing gear stays completely upright and maybe it was slightly loose causing it to slide out of position resulting in the landing gear falling a little. However, this did not fix the issue. Just wanted to give a quick update.

Is the tail hook supposed to do more than wiggle up and down? Mine doesn't move any more than a couple of degrees.

I was referring to the tail hook mechanism that you pull back and forth to drop or raise the landing gear...sorry for the confusion. With enough pressure on the tail hook itself you can pretty much pull it straight down though.

To me it almost looks like whatever is "catching" the tail hook when you slide it up, is not holding it far enough. If I slightly apply pressure on the tail hook the wheels stay up with no issue. But when I release pressure it slides back ever so slightly which drops the wheel.

It's not your confusion, it's mine. It seems like that joint wasn't supposed to let you move it a full 45 degrees. It's quite small.
