Released in April 2020 as one of the very first Classified figures in Wave 1. Mixing aesthetics from the original 1983 design with modern updates, Destro has been a well-received figure and captures the Scottish lord's menacing and regal look perfectly. A lot of Classified fans will agree it might have been nice to have seen him come with the iconic vac-metal chrome head though.
Destro comes with the following gear and accessories: an attache briefcase, a scoped gun, a pistol and a removable chain necklace. Using the poll options, rate the figure on a scale of 1 to 10, 1 being a total miss and a 10 being plastic perfection, based on what you feel the figure deserves. Ratings should take overall design, sculpt, paint apps and paint deco, accessories and articulation into consideration. Thanks for voting and Yooo Joe!!! A damn fine iteration but I will always leave some room for improvement.

I love this figure... gave it an 8. I would probably give the same score to the retro, as I don't think the differences make it any better, or worse, than this one. Destro was one of the first figures I picked up, when I started collecting this line, because he was relatively easy to get. I can't wait to get the IG version, though... depending on how Hasbro does it, that one will probably get a 10, from me.

I mean Its as Destro as Destro can be. I cant see what they could change that would make me care about getting another. Great toy.

Apparently I gave this the lowest score of anyone. I hate this design for many reasons. The red leg band holster, the gray patches, the weird ribbing all over.
That sculpting is fine when it comes to PDD, but here, no way. His outfit should be smooth with crinkles in the leather. Is it nitpicking to say I think Destro should be less muscular and slimmer? Like, he works out, is principled about what he eats, but he isn't a soldier, he's a gentleman. Terrible. He's pretty good from the collar on upwards though.

Going off of Destro's original '83 artwork and figure, he was a very buff/ripped fellow.
In the Creating GI Joe book, all of Destro's (originally named Warmaster) concept design sketches and art show him being a very big, buff and muscular man. Also, his sculptor sheet even has a note from the design team and Ron stating "5% bigger figure" because they wanted him to be very imposing and look powerful and strong next to other figures.

Btw,are you going to do polls for all the Classifieds ? Just curious, still have a lot left haha. |

Yeah, okay. You guys are right about his size.
I'm thinking of him as the dapper slender tall Scotsman from the comics who is often dressed in basic clothes when he is at home. But the original figure is WAY bigger than other figures from that era, by half a head at least. He was clearly meant to be a big dude. You're making me revisit how I see him under the mask. Maybe my baggage with him being big comes from his character model for Resolute. I hated his hulking size in that (though I love that cartoon in general).
