As a very casual collector I?m a bit out of the loop. I know the 6? line seems to be doing well and I?ve even seen a few 3.75? O rings online. It seems like the 4? retro line is winding down or has already drawn to a close. Has there been any mention of 4? Joes coming out that I?ve missed?

Hiya (sp?) is continuing the 4" joes with super articulated Joes, but only a couple have been announced so far. |

Classified: continues to grow, the flagship line currently
O-ring: likely discontinued or on haitus Modern 4inch: discontinued currently Hiya's: only two figures previewed, TBD Reactions: frequent releases, some exclusives, overpriced but easy to find |

-"Classified" are the 6" figures -People here refer to the 4" highly-articulated figures (25th Anniversary and etc) as "Modern" or "Modern Era/ME" -Retro O-ring figures being "likely discontinued or on haitus" is speculation. There's nothing official -The Hiya Toys 4" figures are Asia-only and not available in North America for now

Clarification for the OP who said they're out of the loop/only a casual collector:
-"Classified" are the 6" figures -People here refer to the 4" highly-articulated figures (25th Anniversary and etc) as "Modern" or "Modern Era/ME" -Retro O-ring figures being "likely discontinued or on haitus" is speculation. There's nothing official -The Hiya Toys 4" figures are Asia-only and not available in North America for now My guess it's the increased cost of o-ring construction that is causing Hasbro to rethink the line because the 5-point Star Wars figures have been going steady for years now |

Given the relative silence about non-Classified products and the lack of any news regarding any new media pushes, not to mention the utter non-event Snake Eyes ended up being?
I am STRONGLY of the opinion that GI Joe is on the short list of brands Hasbro is going to be licensing out.

Yep, thanks...good explanations, I don't expect casuals to know what ME is, for o-ring, I think we were told in the summer to possibly look out for news in October but then in those streams that month we got nothing so that's the reason I say likely-remember the old days when Hasbro straight out told us when lines were going on haitus?

GI Joe in general has had 2 successful Haslabs in under a year. Shows the power of the brand. We've seen with the 1997-98 TRU line a check on popularity, disappear a year in 1999, then in 2000 a full retail relaunch. It could happen again! |
