Bringing this back to the top because I finally got a chance to open one of my 3-packs. I haven't done the arms yet, but first thing I noticed is the lack of detail in the regular Vipers. I'm not usually one to nitpick but they are bland compared to the Cobra Island release Viper. The red of the uniform does not pop, the grenades are colored differently, the silver paint of the visor is dull, and the Cobra sigil on the backpack was sloppily and hastily painted as there is no color separation from the background.

Funny enough, all of that subdued look makes sense if a Viper was a real soldier from some nation that absolutely needed to have red in their field uniforms but it does not look great for a toy from an outstanding character design.

At the end of the day it's fine. They can still be displayed together but that was not what I was expecting. Seems like they saw the demand for troop builders and just shit these out as fast as they could without the same attention to detail and character design as the CI Viper. No wonder you still see CI Vipers on ePay for $50+.

EDIT: I just checked my black Viper and the skin matches!

The CI Viper is definitely better. The only thing the three pack has on the first release is that the goggles are better. But you could paint a little silver on the lenses of the CI version in about two seconds and get the same effect.

I was disappointed by the three pack too.

I've only put one of mine on display because they just don't stand out well, the weapons selection is one of the redeeming factors for me so I can swap out the Nerf

I got the same thing: One Viper with a white neck and black forearms, a second with a black neck and black forearms, and then the officer with white neck and white forearms.
