This is probably a paranoid question, but how safe are they in a hot mailbox in 90+ degree weather all day?
I just saw that my Alley Vipers and NECA Predator were delivered to my mailbox this morning and it's been super hot. I hear mailboxes can get over 130 degrees inside which is like the temperature of a medium rare steak. I won't be able to rescue them for a few more hours. |

They should be fine, but they will feel a little gummy when you take them out. I would leave them in the package until they cool back down and "reharden."

You won’t have Classified soup but you will have pudding. Enjoy, should be delicious.

I've seen some figures in the past that seemed to have melted a bit inside their packaging, but I guess that must have been a factory defect that something that happened after production.

A figure in a mailbox for a few days will be fine. Long-term storage of figures should be at room temperature with no extremes of temperature. Otherwise, that will make the plastic discolor and get brittle over the years.

Keep in mind that toys are shipped in large, steel, unrefrigerated shipping containers and are in there for weeks at a time. Then they ship in large, steel, unrefrigerated trucks for days/weeks where they then sit in large, unrefrigerated warehouses for who knows how long.
Heat might soften stuff, but, in general, your toys will be fine even in this heat.

I routinely have to heat up figures (from all lines not just Classified) to get their joints moving, so a hot mailbox might actually be a *good* thing! A year or two back I bought a Black Series Boba Fett that was notorious for having a warped helmet. Well, I was on the road so I just left Mr. Fett on the dash and when I got back from the toy show his helmet had straightened right out! I normally use hot water, though.
