Got to make sure the product is as cheap as possible to produce, so they can make the most profit, get their bonuses, and please the shareholders.

Hasbro sure knows how to piss off their buyers right up to the point they want to quit and THEN pulling out something nice like a decently priced Retro vehicle set. Painted over accessories make one want to just keep them carded.
Me: But then the cards are so flimsy they often get wrecked in shipping! Hasbro: We'll add a box to protect. Me: Thanks Hasbro! Hasbro: Oh but we're not stopping there. In order to stop the carbonite footprint and cut costs for DERPA we've eliminated the windows. Me: Great so now I'm an opener ok? Hasbro: Oh one more thing, to cut costs further we painted the accessories and now they tend to flake paint. Enjoy! Me: ...Sonuvab!tch! |

I don't have any of the '97-200x guys anymore, but I remember their hands being softer than these new guys, especially the 97-98 ones. Is that the case? I'm an old fart with an old fart memory.

97 Joes were *very* soft. I vaguely recall them getting big backlash for that. Who knew we'd be calling for more of it in 2022. But then we do have entire Transformers sub-lines based on one of the worst panned ideas in the IP's history: Action Masters

Yes, I'm not worried about breaking the thumbs on my SS SE retro o-ring figures either. I did however break one of the nunchucks that came with SS, perhaps that's why they include 2 in each set.
