Anyone else wonder why there wasn't a retro VAMP?

Looking back at that retail "Docks" Vamp I don't know why I never really looked for it. Other than TRU being a bit of a travel to. Hasn't stopped me before. But back then I wasn't buying much online. But it really is a pretty nice alternative.

Yeah, it was terrific set, for sure. Actually, all those 50th sets are pretty great and a helluva bargain in hindsight. Who knew that was the end of an era at the time? A couple of years later and TRU is gone and GI Joe 1:18 scale is reduced to a handful of toys at Walmart for twice the price.

Well, I think the upcoming Retro Stinger answers this question. It appears to be an all-new mold based on the original, and you know they would've used the 25th mold if it was available to save money, so they must not have it anymore. Sad.

That likely means the 25th Water Moccasin & Sky Hawk are goners too.

This is a bummer for sure. Of all the 25th era retools I think these two were the best.

Yep, and it's also a sign of the end of an era, of sorts. We got used to Hasbro reusing molds and stuff, so it's almost a shock to realize that's over...crazy to think that 25th VAMP mold is practically 15 years old. It's a bit depressing and sobering (at least for me) to realize just how long the "modern era" has been going on.
