I often regret passing them up when they were still available, they cost a mint now. I was stubbornly O-ring Joe only at the time. I even passed up a few that had turned up at Big Lots.

I do. I fucks with Revelations and Origins. As a matter of fact bought two Rise Of Evil two packs to display the other Skeleton head and I think Revelations Evil-Lyn was one of the best figures to drop last year. Revelations is killin it. I just don't mention the M.O.T.U. for obvious reasons and I don't go in the general toy thread.
The other lines I collect are McFarlene's stuff, Legends, The Black Series, Action Force. Off topic, can I say I collect A.F. when I have yet to receive any product? Anyway, and I'm going to add Mythic Legions and I'm taking a strong and hard look at Dime Novel Legends. The toys are a means to an end. |

I definetly feel like any of the toy lines from the 80s and 90s are mostly for adult collectors with some exceptions. Some companies clearly seem to acknowledge the difference and have separate lines to amend to both demographics with lower price points and fewer points of articulation such as the gi joe having basics and 12 inch unarticulated toys for 8.99 for kids. But yeh the motu origins says retro play right on box marvel does the same with legends and then generic cheap disposable figures. Gi joe does seem to be in my opinion that for whatever reason feels like will die out with our generation i guarantee most younger kids don?t know gi joe unless the watched robot chicken.

6 inch is the gold standard for today's scale. When Classified hit shelves, it most certainly was aimed at kids, though the hope was it was received by kids and adults alike. When it became clear (sorta clear) that that wasn't what was happening, Hasbro shifted focus.
It is now an adult line, with the hope that kids get in on it too. A few pieces of evidence to support this--- 1. The line dips heavily in to the ARAH universe. Alley Viper, Tiger Force Bazooka and Zarana are not exactly the characters (I would imagine) Hasbro would pull from their extensive library to put in a kid focused line. 2. The fan first live streams. Usually around noon on a weekday. When kids are at school. 3. The price point. Look at Star Wars for a moment. Much bigger, more successful, etc. You have the Vintage Collection line that fans wanted and because SW is so big, it came back. Then, you have the black series, the 6 in scale that Hasbro and other companies prefer, and then you have those odd 5 in toys with 5 poa. That seems to be what Hasbro targets kids with. Even the Joes have those, and I haven't paid much attention to them but I know there is a red ninja and maybe a Scarlet in that line. My point being, that is what is aimed at kids. The 6 in stuff? If kids are buying them, great. But, no, it is an adult line for the time being to keep shelf space at retail and the name on the market, until the figure out what they will do next for a new generation of kids.

Even Revelations has been good, though the cartoon sucked, with characters like Spikor and Scareglow, that they knocked it out of the park on. And the coming Jitsu just oozes with coolness. As far as Scott Neitlich goes, lol, well, it doesn't really matter what we think of him, because Scott knows that he will always have Scott who loves Scott.

Kids were not sophisticated enough to somehow manage to buy GIJ CS figures that would only magically appear in stores for like less than 5 minutes back when they were first released.

Do you mean the entire JOE brand or just the A Real American Hero portion of the brand?

So you're saying that you passed up on a cool toy line out of scale loyalty?
